British American Tobacco Malaysia has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Technician in Madang, Papua New Guinea.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, and PLC-controlled production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

• Perform preventive maintenance activities and inspections to reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support production targets.

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to restore production performance.

• Install, upgrade, and modify machinery, sensors, motors, and electrical components to improve machine performance and reliability.

• Partner with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety, GMP, quality, and company standards.

What are we looking for?

• Grade 12/SPM with a Trade Certificate in Electrical, Electronic, or a related field; a Diploma in Electrical Engineering is an advantage.

• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, electronic, and PLC-controlled production equipment.

• Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.

• Knowledge of PLC programming, fault-finding, and industrial electrical systems.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and instrumentation drawings.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to safety, GMP, and quality standards.
