About the Program
 
 Students interested in digital communication, social media, and technology are welcome to apply for an internship with our Digital Strategy team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on client accounts across FGS's strategic, corporate, and financial functions, and gain hands-on experience working alongside our teams of dedicated and creative communications professionals.
 
 Interns will be paid $21/hour and follow a hybrid schedule with an expectation of 4 days in the office per week in our Washington, D.C. office.
 
 Depending on performance and location, an extension into a part-time internship in the fall will be considered.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
<ul>
 <li>Monitor news, conduct research, create media lists, and aid multiple account teams to help clients with digital channel management, profile raising, crisis, issues management, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, etc.</li>
 <li>Learn about the many facets of what we do, including crisis and issues management, government affairs and policy, strategy and reputation, and financial communications (investor relations, M&amp;A, VC and shareholder activism).</li>
 <li>Participate in a robust internal training program that covers many facets of communications more generally.</li>
 <li>Conduct and analyze industry- and company-specific social media research</li>
 <li>Assist in building, managing, and reporting on performance for digital ad and/or email newsletter campaigns</li>
 <li>Work under the direction of an assigned mentor to devise recommendations and solutions for clients' digital channels</li>
 <li>Recognize and identify noteworthy patterns or changes in social media activity.</li>
 <li>Assist in planning, brainstorming, and executing social media tactics and strategies</li>
 <li>Create content for clients across owned social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, and more.</li>
 <li>Perform social channel research audits and develop social media content calendars.</li>
 <li>Produce data-driven analytics reports related to social and digital channel performance.</li>
 <li>Write email newsletter copy, blog posts, and web content as necessary.</li>
 <li>Work with team members on related digital projects and tasks.</li>

Qualifications:

 <li>Eagerness and desire to learn</li>
 <li>Strong writer and editor</li>
 <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel</li>
 <li>Interest in and enthusiasm for social media, digital communications, finance, and/or public relations</li>
 <li>Ability to take initiative, ask questions, and manage multiple assignments and deadlines at once</li>
 <li>Excellent interpersonal skills</li>

 District of Columbia Salary Range
 
 $21-$21 USD
