Mission :

The Mechanical Design Project Manager (M/F) is responsible for the mechanical design projects of special discontinuous assembly machines for the automotive and/or consumer sectors.

Responsibilities :

• Reporting to the head of the BEM department, the Mechanical Design Project Manager (M/F) ensures the realization of mechanical studies by proposing technical and economic solutions compatible with the business budget and the company's know-how.

• You carry out preliminary studies according to client input data: o Integration of standardized technical solutions. o Design new solutions. o Guarantee a reliable design.

• You define the roles and objectives of each (internal or subcontractor), anticipate organizational and resource needs, and guarantee a reliable design compatible with internal methods and standardization guidelines: o Manage a schedule. o Manage and respect a study budget. o Dimension the resources required for the project. o Manage remaining work.

• You guarantee and ensure that the studies are carried out according to the objectives set at the end of the preliminary study (technical solutions, deadlines, risks, échéances, budgets, feasibility, etc.) in conjunction with the business manager.

• You functionally lead a team of Designers/Drafters (internal or external): monitoring and control of studies.

• You ensure communication and project follow-up with clients within your scope.

• You provide technical assistance during the fine-tuning phase.

Required skills and abilities :

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solidworks or equivalent).

• Knowledge of mechanical design and the assembly business: mastery of functional dimensioning, reading and calculating dimension chains, creating machine cycle diagrams.

• Knowledge of materials and heat and surface treatments (RDM).

• Knowledge of machining, pneumatic system operation, and additive manufacturing are a plus for this position.

• Knowledge of technical English.

Qualifications :

• Bac +3/+5 degree in mechanical design.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an equivalent position, within a structure specialized in assembly line processes.
