Network & Systems Engineer

The Opportunity:

Are you looking for an opportunity to build, automate, and scale critical infrastructure? As a Network and Systems Engineer, you understand that robust, predictable infrastructure is the backbone of mission-critical operations. You know how to bridge the gap between traditional networking, cloud environments, and modern automation to turn complex architectural designs into reality. At Booz Allen, you can apply your networking expertise, infrastructure-as-code skills, and systems knowledge to engineer reliable environments that support our nation's most critical missions.

On our team, you’ll be trusted to implement, automate, and standardize enterprise network and systems infrastructure across multi-cloud and on-premises environments. You’ll leverage automation frameworks and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible to build repeatable, consistent platforms while eliminating configuration drift. Using deep diagnostic skills, from low-level packet captures to centralized log analysis, you’ll troubleshoot complex and distributed environments and ensure system resiliency.

In this role, you will take high-level, strategic technical architectures and independently execute them with precision and minimal oversight. You will champion design standardization across dynamic engineering teams, ensuring that infrastructure deployments strictly adhere to baseline architectural patterns and rigorous compliance standards.

Safeguard the future with us and develop mission-critical infrastructure engineered for stability, scale, and repeatability.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

• 4+ years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations including enterprise networking concepts such as routing, switching, subnets, firewalls, and segmentation

• Experience developing automation and configuration management solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Python

• Experience deploying, managing, and maintaining workloads across cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and Linux operating systems

• Experience supporting and integrating CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure monitoring tools

• Experience performing deep-dive troubleshooting across complex, multi-tiered systems using network packet captures such as Wireshark and tcpdump and centralized log analysis tools

• Ability to interpret high-level, strategic architectural designs and translate them into standardized, production-ready technical implementations with minimal day-to-day oversight

• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional, Agile teams while enforcing architectural standards, configuration consistency, and documentation baselines

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with container orchestration and microservices architectures such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and defensive cyber operations principles

• Ability to identify and remediate configuration drift across hybrid cloud and on-premises footprints

• Industry Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA/CCNP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
