Electronic Equity and ATS Origination Sales Director

Citi’s Platform & Electronic Sales franchise is responsible for the global distribution and marketing of Equities and Equities-related trading products, delivering unified solutions across Cash, Derivatives, Delta One, and Prime Brokerage.

We are seeking a high-performing Director – Electronic Equity & ATS Origination Sales to spearhead the growth and market penetration of our US electronic trading franchise. In this role, you will lead origination efforts with an emphasis on Citi-ONE ATS, driving client adoption, deepening institutional client relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional trading, product, and quantitative teams to deliver best-in-class execution strategies

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Origination & Business Development
- ATS Platform Distribution: Spearhead the marketing, origination, and client onboarding for Citi-ONE ATS across sell-side broker-dealers, retail BD aggregators, wholesale platforms, regional banks, and RIAs.
- Execution Services Expansion: Drive our electronic execution agenda by originating new client flow and expanding existing wallet share across Algorithmic Execution, Direct Market Access (DMA), ATS liquidity, and Central Risk (CR) offerings.
- Client Relationship Management: Utilize an established industry network to identify client workflow needs, introduce bespoke Citi electronic solutions, and successfully convert pipeline opportunities. A particular emphasis will be placed on sell side relationships across the EE platform.
- Sales Strategy & Revenue Maximization: Formulate and execute targeted marketing plans with clearly defined revenue benchmarks, market penetration goals, and client tiering priorities.
Cross-Franchise & Product Collaboration
- Holistic Equities Suite Delivery: Partner seamlessly with broader Cash Equities, Derivatives, Delta One, and Prime Brokerage desks to cross-sell holistic execution, financing, clearing, and custody capabilities.
- Data Commercialization: Lead the distribution of proprietary execution analytics, quantitative insights, and bespoke market datasets to enhance client engagement.
- Internal Synergy: Collaborate with sales and trading colleagues across the Global Markets franchise to source bilateral buying and selling opportunities.
Risk, Governance & Controls
- Regulatory & Control Integrity: Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Market & Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to maintain robust governance, supervisory controls, and operational integrity for Citi-ONE ATS and electronic trading workflows.
- Prudent Risk Management: Exercise sound commercial and ethical judgment in all business decisions, safeguarding the firm’s reputation, assets, and regulatory standing while proactively managing and escalating control items.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Experience: 6–10 years of institutional markets experience, specifically within electronic sell-side sales at a major global investment bank or leading broker-dealer.
Product Expertise: Deep technical mastery of electronic trading products (Algos, Smart Order Routing, DMA, Dark Liquidity/ATS, and Central Risk).
Market Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of US equity market microstructure, regulatory frameworks, and wholesale/retail order routing dynamics.
Relationship Network: Established, referenceable relationships across the sell-side broker-dealer, institutional, and intermediary communities.
Communication & Problem Solving: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; adept at consultative selling and translating complex quantitative/technical concepts into commercial value.
Licensing: Active FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 (or ability to obtain within standard onboarding timeframe).
Education: Bachelor’s degree / University degree or equivalent professional experience.
