Barcelona, Spain, Berlin, Germany, Paris, France · Hybrid

Our mission and customers: We are creating the freedom for SMEs to succeed by delivering Europe's leading finance workspace with banking at its core, augmented by financial tools. We are proud to be rated 4.8 on Trustpilot, based on 55,000+ reviews. Our culture puts customer satisfaction at the core of what we do, as proven by our Net Promoter Score of 75 (more about our culture here).

Our journey: Founded in 2017 by Alexandre and Steve, Qonto has grown to 1,700 Qontoers serving over 750,000 customers across 8 European countries. We have been profitable since 2023, and we are just getting started.

Our beliefs: We hire for skills and potential. With 80+ nationalities, 45% women, of which 56% of women in our leadership team, diversity isn't a program; It's who we are. We've built a discrimination-free hiring process because the best teams are built on merit.

AI at Qonto: AI is deeply embedded in how we work (here) - Every Qontoer gets unlimited access to the best AI tools. We want people who experiment without waiting for permission, push AI beyond the obvious, know when to trust it, and when to question it.

Join us as a Web Engineer Intern in the Activation team and help newly activated customers get real value from Qonto. You’ll ship small, well-scoped web features in React that help customers top up their account, discover our products and get started with confidence.

What you’ll do

Ship real features: pick up well-scoped React tickets, from UI changes to broader features as your skills grow.
Work across disciplines: clarify requirements with product, design, web, backend and mobile engineers, and take part in task breakdown and estimation.
Learn our engineering workflow: open pull requests, iterate through code review and merge safely.
Own quality, with support: run engineer QA, fix issues and follow your features through release and post-release checks.
Help us improve: when priorities allow, explore monitoring (Sentry, Grafana), small refactors and AI-assisted ways of working.

What we’re looking for

You have web foundations: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React. School and personal projects count.
You know the basics of Git: you can explain branching, pull requests and review.
You communicate proactively: you ask questions early, flag blockers and welcome feedback.
You are studying computer science or a related technical field, ideally Master 2 or an engineering degree. A strong Master 1 profile can also be considered.
You work comfortably in English and you’re willing to use AI while understanding, challenging and verifying what it produces

What we can offer you

Visible impact: your work reaches real customers.
The full feature lifecycle: requirements, build, QA, release and follow-up, not an isolated school exercise.
Hands-on mentoring from experienced web engineers, with Susana Prado López as your mentor.
Progressive responsibility: start with small tickets and widen your scope as you learn the codebase.
Fintech and AI exposure, in a team spanning web, backend, iOS and Android.

Your future manager: Your manager will be Benjamin Director of Engineering. His background? Benjamin started as a network software developer at Thales, where he also owned software integration and verification for defence routing protocols. He then moved into machine learning and became CTO of Collective Thinking, a healthcare deep-learning startup, where he hired, onboarded and managed a team of 10 engineers. He joined Qonto in 2021 as Lead Backend, became Senior Lead Backend, then Head of Back-End, and is now Director of Engineering.
