Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

• The Director of SMT Expert Team is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously developing Infineon’s global SMT / Assembly Expert Group as a central competence hub for Surface Mount Technology(SMT).

• The role ensures best-in-class technical support to customers and contract manufacturers (CMs) by providing structured Level 2 expert support, enabling fast and effective issue resolution, and strengthening Infineon’s reputation as a competent partner in board assembly and interconnect technologies.

• The position acts as a key integrator across functions, linking Reliability & Qualification, Backend Development, OSAT Development, Business Line Development and customer-facing organizations.

Professional Experience

• Extensive experience in SMT / board assembly technologies and backend semiconductor manufacturing

• Proven track record in managing complex technical topics across organizations

• Strong experience working with contract manufacturers and external partners

• Experience in customer-facing roles and technical escalation management

Leadership & Management Skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead international and cross-functional expert teams

• Strong facilitation, moderation, and stakeholder alignment skills

• Ability to lead complex matrix organizations without direct reporting lines

• Intrapreneurial and strategic mindset combined with strong operational execution

Technical Competence

• Deep expertise in SMT processes, materials, and interconnect technologies

• Strong understanding of system-level and board-level requirements

• Knowledge of production, reliability, and qualification requirements
