JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Market Growth (40%)

• Develop and execute a Southeast Asia Power Grid growth strategy.

• Identify new consulting opportunities within utilities, transmission operators, renewable developers, IPPs, regulators, and energy investors.

• Build a strong pipeline of consulting and advisory projects.

• Generate and win consulting revenue through direct client engagement.

• Lead proposal development, bid preparation, and commercial negotiations.

• Position Bureau Veritas as a leading technical advisor for power grid and energy transition projects.

• Develop strategic relationships with C-level executives and senior decision-makers.

Consulting & Advisory Delivery (40%)

• Lead technical consulting assignments across:

  • Transmission planning
  • Grid modernization
  • Renewable integration
  • Interconnection studies
  • Grid code compliance
  • Energy transition
  • Smart grid initiatives
  • Power system studies
  • Knowledge regarding the flexible transmission system (FACTS) and HVDC

• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for consulting engagements.

• Act as project director for strategic regional projects.

• Deliver executive-level presentations and advisory recommendations.

Practice Building & Leadership (20%)

• Build and expand the Grid Consulting practice in Southeast Asia.

• Support recruitment and development of technical consultants.

• Establish methodologies, frameworks, and consulting offerings.

• Collaborate with global Bureau Veritas Energy & Power experts.

• Develop strategic partnerships with utilities, technology providers, and industry associations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or related field (Master's preferred)

• At least 8 to 12 years of experience in power grid operations, engineering or utility consulting

• Well-versed in PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP or MATLAB/ Simulink.

• Familiarity with ASEAN grid codes and the regulatory landscape of at least 2 or 3 SEA countries.

• Proficiency in written and spoken of English (business proficient). Fluency in Bahasa, Vietnamese or Thai is a significant advantage.

• Soft skills:

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities
  • Problem-solving and analytical capabilities

• Location and Travel:

  • Office Base: Jakarta/Kuala Lumpur/Bangkok (primary location to be determined)
  • Travel Requirements: 40-60% regional travel across Southeast Asian countries
  • On-Site Engagement: Frequent client site visits and project-based deployments
  • Flexibility: Ability to work across multiple time zones
