Engineering at Qualified

Engineering at Qualified is a high-ownership, high-velocity environment where engineers ship customer-facing product to real enterprises at scale. We're building at the frontier of AI + product: developing agentic software and embedding AI directly into our platform, using modern toolchains and processes that help engineers move faster while staying focused on high-impact problem solving.

Following our acquisition by Salesforce, we continue to operate with the pace and ownership of a startup—backed by the distribution, resources, and long-term runway of a global enterprise. Engineers have true end-to-end ownership from idea to production: scoping, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement based on real customer feedback, without layers of approvals slowing you down.

The Role

Product Core builds the foundational product systems everything depends on: identifying prospects, scheduling and routing meetings, synchronizing data with calendars and go-to-market platforms, executing workflows, and supporting enterprise authentication. We also enable customers and partners to extend the product through public APIs, webhooks, and custom integrations. These capabilities power critical parts of the customer journey and have a meaningful impact on conversion, revenue, and customer trust.

The team also builds the data, context, and execution capabilities behind our agentic product experiences, including meeting preparation, routing investigation, and product explainability.

As an engineer on Product Core, you'll operate as a technical leader: leading complex initiatives from early design through production, shaping architecture, writing substantial production code, influencing technical direction, and helping other engineers do their best work.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex product initiatives from an ambiguous problem through technical design, implementation, launch, and ongoing ownership

• Build reliable meeting-booking, calendaring, routing, and workflow experiences that directly affect customer conversion and revenue

• Build and evolve integrations with CRM, marketing automation, sales engagement, collaboration, calendaring, and data-enrichment platforms

• Build intuitive public APIs and reliable webhooks that let customers and partners extend the product

• Design for the realities of third-party systems: API limits, OAuth credentials, inconsistent data, retries, synchronization, and partial failures

• Advance AI-assisted capabilities such as meeting preparation, routing investigation, and explanations of product behavior

• Improve the scalability, observability, security, and supportability of critical production systems, and own difficult customer issues to their root cause

• Raise the engineering bar through technical leadership, design and code reviews, and mentorship

Who You Are

• A track record of independently delivering complex SaaS capabilities from design through launch and ongoing operation

• Strong full-stack skills, with particular depth in backend systems, APIs, relational data models, and background processing

• Experience building or operating integrations with complex third-party platforms

• Sound technical judgment around reliability, data integrity, security, and incremental system evolution

• Excellent debugging skills across application, integration, and data boundaries

• Demonstrated technical leadership: you influence architecture and execution beyond your immediate workstream

• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity: you can frame problems, propose solutions, and align others

• Product-minded: you care about UX and customer outcomes, not just implementation

• Experience with modern web frameworks (Rails/React/Postgres/AWS is a plus; adaptability matters most)

Nice to Have

• Experience with CRM, marketing automation, scheduling, routing, enrichment, or workflow products

• Familiarity with OAuth, webhooks, synchronization pipelines, rate-limited APIs, or eventual consistency

• Experience with enterprise identity systems such as SSO, SAML, or SCIM

• Experience building production AI or LLM applications, agent tooling, or explainability features

Why Join Qualified

• Own systems that move revenue: Meeting booking, routing, and workflows sit directly in the customer conversion path. When they get better, customers win more deals.

• Integration problems with real depth: OAuth, webhooks, rate limits, sync, and partial failure: the hard, interesting problems of connecting enterprise systems at scale.

• AI as a core product surface: Advance the context and execution layer behind Piper's agentic experiences, from meeting preparation to product explainability.

• High bar, low bureaucracy: Work with a team that values craft and decisive execution, where strong ideas win and shipping is the default.

If you're excited to build the foundational product systems behind an AI-powered platform at enterprise scale, we'd love to hear from you.
