Mid-Level
Design and build services: You develop Java applications and REST APIs from requirement to go-live and take ownership of the technical implementation within the project team.
Turn design into code: You read and understand technical design documents and convert them into clean, working, maintainable software.
Work with microservices: You build and extend microservices-based systems, from individual services to larger integration and modernisation efforts.
Integrate third-party systems: You connect our applications with external partners and platforms via REST and SOAP interfaces using JSON and XML.
Own the data layer: You write optimised MySQL queries and stored procedures and keep performance and data integrity in focus.
Ensure quality and security: You write unit tests, use code quality tools and apply secure coding practices, including fixing findings from security assessments.
Collaborate in the project team: You work closely with colleagues, share knowledge in reviews and daily collaboration, and communicate clearly with the team.
Engineering background: You have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Core Java (Java 11 or above) and REST API development.
Architecture: You have worked with microservices architecture and understand how services are designed, deployed and integrated.
Database skills: You have strong knowledge of MySQL, including optimised queries and stored procedures.
Integration experience: You have integrated third-party APIs (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML) in production projects.
Delivery mindset: You can understand a technical design document and translate it into development without needing every detail spelled out.
Domain knowledge (preferred): Experience in the insurance domain, such as Motor, Motor Claims, Medical or Travel, is a strong plus.
Communication: You communicate well and enjoy working in a team.
