Job Description

Business Year-Long Internship

Duration: 12 months

Starting salary: £23,600 (pro rata) + £500 joining bonus to support with moving and hybrid working

Location: Derby, Bristol, London and East Grinstead

At Rolls-Royce we are committed to always being a force for progress; powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere.

Our Internship programmes are designed to help you build your career from day one. You'll work on meaningful projects, learn from experienced colleagues and develop the skills to make a real impact. That's Infinite Potential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get a real insight into our business and contribute to solving challenges that impact various areas of our business, from HR to IT, strategy to innovation, customer management to procurement and more. And on a 12-month internship with us, you'll get the chance to experience it first-hand.

Role overview:

You’ll be placed in one of our business areas across our enterprise, including, Aerospace, Defence, Group IT, Group Business Services, or Rolls-Royce Solutions UK. You could see for yourself how we negotiate contracts on a global level or provide support to one of our commercial teams. Or you might be involved in helping purchase the parts for a highly efficient jet engine, a building or IT system.

Thanks to a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training, you’ll build a wealth of new skills with the help of industry experts. People who are as invested in your success as you are.

This is your chance to gain a fantastic insight into a leading, global business. But it’s up to you to make the most of it. Opportunities following on from this programme could be a role directly within the business as an experienced hire or a place on one of our new programmes due to be launched in 2027.

Who we’re looking for:

• A current university student, studying any subject, with at least one year left in your degree once the internship ends

• You’ll need to be open-minded, curious, collaborative and agile – someone who enjoys problem solving and who recognises the power of teamwork

• A willingness to work flexibly and travel between locations: in most cases, you’ll be able to achieve the scheme requirements in the location you are recruited to, however, we may need you to be flexible and travel between sites during or for your rotational ‘gigs’

We see hybrid working as a way to balance and flex our time between the office, home, or another remote working place. Everyone is expected on site, on average, three days per week. But specific arrangements will vary from role to role and gig to gig. We encourage and support flexible working arrangements where we can.

Our behaviours drive us - we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. We’ll expect that of you, too.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business areas an individual must hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.

What we offer:

• 33 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays (pro rata)

• Access to an independent, 24-hour, confidential counselling service

• Meaningful work from day one, with the support to help you succeed

• A culture that invests in your personal and professional development

• The chance to grow your skills while working on real projects in a global company

Join us and help create the technologies that will shape tomorrow. If you're ready to learn, grow and make a lasting difference from day one, we'd love to hear from you.

Rolls-Royce are committed to being a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace where individuality is valued, diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and everyone can thrive.

Closing date: Friday 13th November 2026

We reserve the right to close the job advert early dependent on application volumes.

Assessment centres will take place in December – January 2027
