We are seeking an experienced candidate to join the SOLIDWORKS User Experience Design Team. SOLIDWORKS leads the global 3D computer-aided design (CAD) industry with easy-to-use 3D software that trains and supports the world's engineering and design teams as they drive tomorrow's product innovation.
The Challenges ahead:
YouYou will work closely with various stakeholders to help quickly identify and resolve UX problems, while actively participating in user feedback activities. The UX Designer is responsible for defining easy to use user interfaces for the next generation of CAD and data management applications.
What will your job be?
As a member of a multi-disciplinary User Experience (UX) Design team, you will be responsible for all aspects of UX and usability for SOLIDWORKS mechanical design software products. You will be responsible for engaging and developing professional solutions, by providing UX support from initial design to product release. You are required to have a strong background in CAD. Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS design / 3DModelling will be good to have.
Role & Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:

Participating in research, planning and design functionality for SolidWorks products.

Creating wireframes and User Interface (UI) concept mockups.

Creating low, medium, and high fidelity UI prototypes.

Writing UI specifications.
-
Conducting user research and usability tests.

Leading team critique and design review sessions
-
Mentoring team members in UX Design methods and skills
Qualifications/Experience
-
BE or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering and User Experience Design or a related area such as Interaction Design or Product Design

3-5 years of previous experience as a UX Designer is required.

A portfolio of previous design work is mandatory.

Previous experience with SOLIDWORKS or any other 3D CAD software is desirable.

Previous work experience in engineering, technology or design is desirable.
Must demonstrate ability to:

Sketch and express ideas quickly and fluidly.

Create wireframes and other UI concept prototypes.

Discuss design ideas and design rationale, both orally and in writing.

Conduct usability tests and other forms of user research and feedback.
-
Good written and verbal communication skills

Mentor junior team members
