Internship
CATIA is one of the leading 3D design solutions offering generative functionalities, allowing designers to create advanced geometric models based on business engineering rules and performance constraints (robustness, mass, durability, etc.).
Among CATIA's applications, those specialized in the design of electrical and fluidic systems offer tools to design such networks in 3D, allowing the installation and operation of these systems under nominal conditions.
Our R&D team is responsible for the definition, development, and maintenance of such specialized applications.
As a data scientist, your mission will be to employ the latest artificial intelligence technologies to support the development of the new generation of generative experiences, serving solutions dedicated to the design of electrical and fluidic systems.
Electrical and fluidic disciplines rely on business rules, which are currently mainly expressed in table format. These rules may be available in various external and human-readable formats: Excel files, text documents, images, etc. They must then be integrated into a structured internal data model that can be exploited by CATIA applications.
The objective of the internship is to design and implement a solution to automate the import of these business rules from external sources to the internal data model.
A preferred approach will be to explore and leverage artificial intelligence solutions to recognize, interpret, and structure the rules present in the source documents. Depending on the results obtained, AI can also be used at other stages of the processing chain, for example, for context understanding, rule transformation, or inconsistency detection.
The intern will notably be responsible for:
Analyzing the different possible formats and structures of external business rules;
Studying and evaluating different AI approaches adapted to the extraction and understanding of these rules;
Designing a process to transform the extracted information into data conforming to the internal model;
Developing a prototype and then, depending on the results, an industrializable solution;
Setting up validation and control mechanisms to ensure the reliability of the imported rules;
Evaluating the performance, limitations, and failure cases of the chosen approach.
This internship thus offers the opportunity to work on a concrete problem at the intersection of artificial intelligence, document processing, data engineering, and business systems, with a strong dimension of experimentation and design.
You are in your final year of engineering school or Master 2 (Bac+5), with a specialization in data science, artificial intelligence, and/or machine learning.
You have already acquired initial academic or professional experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or deep learning, through a project, work-study program, or internship.
You are particularly interested in issues of understanding and exploiting unstructured data, document processing, and the use of generative AI models.
