Product Owner | Your Backlog Guides Air Traffic

Location: Bucharest Orhideea, Romania

Thales is a global technology leader trusted by governments, institutions, and enterprises to tackle their most demanding challenges. From quantum applications and artificial intelligence to cybersecurity and 6G innovation, our solutions empower critical decisions rooted in human intelligence. Operating at the forefront of defence and security, aerospace and space, cybersecurity and digital identity, we’re driven by a mission to build a future we can all trust.

In Romania, we are advancing innovation through software engineering, research and development, delivering solutions in key markets in which Thales Group operates. Our engineers design, develop and integrate solutions that impact global industries – from fully operational systems and subsystems for naval warfare and maritime security operations, to air traffic management systems, satellite-based solutions, tactical indoor simulations, identity and biometric technologies and more.

We're Thales ECC Bucharest, one of the fastest-growing engineering centers in the city. Our products run operational systems across Europe.

THE WORK: Product ownership on operational software for European programs: backlog, stakeholders across countries, engineering teams in Bucharest. Complexity you can't get in a startup, autonomy you don't expect in a corporation.

YOU: 3+ years as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in agile software delivery. You translate ambiguity into a backlog without losing the plot. Not ticking every box? Apply anyway. We hire for trajectory, not checklists.

FRENCH TRACK: French is a multiplier here, never a requirement. Many of our POs work directly with French customers and program teams, and we compensate the language as the multiplier it is.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU: Competitive package, private medical care, meal tickets, flexible/hybrid working, learning budget and certifications, and the stability of a group that has been building critical technology for 130 years.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT: We open this role several times a year. Apply in five minutes, no cover letter. Answer a few short questions about your stack and seniority, and a recruiter dedicated to your domain takes it from there. When the right project opens, you're matched first, at your level, on your timeline.

At Thales, we’re committed to fostering a workplace where respect, trust, collaboration, and passion drive everything we do. Here, you’ll feel empowered to bring your best self, thrive in a supportive culture, and love the work you do. Join us, and be part of a team reimagining technology to create solutions that truly make a difference – for a safer, greener, and more inclusive world.
