Senior Back End Software Engineer - Fixed term for 6 months

Autodesk is seeking an experienced Senior Back End Software Engineer to join our Agile development team.
**This is a fixed term position, **with the possibility of extension
The role will be offered on a contract basis through an external employment partner.
As part of this role, you will join the team responsible for building foundational backend services and contributing to the development of the next generation of the Autodesk Construction Cloud Platform, used across mobile applications, web applications, and cloud services.
At Autodesk, we work in a hybrid environment based in our Tel Aviv office, with 2 office days per week.
Responsibilities

Work as a member of a self-organized Agile team that builds, owns, and operates its services

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services using Node.js

Contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from architecture and development through deployment and production

Build clean, performant, maintainable, and highly scalable backend solutions

Work with cloud-based architectures and services in AWS

Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes, including hands-on work with Jenkins

Leverage and effectively work with modern AI tools and AI-assisted development technologies

Work closely with Product Management and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into high-quality technical solutions

Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices
Minimum Qualifications
-
8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend development

Extensive hands-on experience developing production-grade backend applications and services using Node.js

Proven experience designing and developing scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems

Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native application development

Strong experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices

Hands-on experience working with Jenkins

Good understanding of and practical experience using AI tools and AI-assisted software development workflows

Experience with Git or equivalent distributed version control systems

Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing backend architecture for large-scale cloud platforms

Experience with microservices and distributed systems

Experience with observability, monitoring, and production troubleshooting

Familiarity with infrastructure automation and modern DevOps practices

Experience introducing or leveraging AI-based tools to improve engineering productivity, development workflows, or software quality
