Junior Quantum Engineer – NextHub Bari

We are looking for a junior figure to be included in Deloitte NextHub at the Bari office, who will work in Hybrid mode.

The business deals with supporting our clients in identifying solutions and models aimed at improving productivity, efficiency, and quality of the services offered, also with the support of new technologies. You will work on cutting-edge quantum computing projects, developing algorithms and solutions that harness the power of quantum mechanics. You will be on the border between physics and computer science, in the most innovative sector of the moment.

Your Role

You will work on cutting-edge quantum computing projects, developing algorithms and solutions that harness the power of quantum mechanics. You will be on the border between physics and computer science, in the most innovative sector of the moment and you will also have the opportunity to come into contact with the main scientific communities in the sector, expanding your professional network.

The Junior resource will be included in a work team, supporting senior colleagues and dealing with:

• Develop quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems

• Work with quantum computing platforms (IBM Qiskit, Google Cirq, Amazon Braket)

• Implement quantum circuits and quantum gates

• Contribute to research on quantum machine learning and quantum simulation

• Explore Practical Applications of quantum computing

What we offer

The expected remuneration for the Analyst position is between EUR 22,000 and EUR 25,000 gross per year. In the case of an internship, an internship allowance is foreseen. The classification will be defined during the selection phase based on the profile and in application of the National Collective Labor Agreement for Tertiary Distribution and Services. The definition of the specific compensation, including any variable elements (such as MBO) or ancillary benefits, will depend on the evaluation of the profile against the requirements of the position.

Winning Requirements

• Degree in STEM subjects (Physics, Computer Science, Engineering)

• Excellent academic background

• Familiarity with Quantum Computing

• Good knowledge of machine learning and quantum simulation

• Good knowledge of Python accompanied by solid foundations in quantum physics and linear algebra

• Any IBM Quantum, AWS Braket, GCP Quantum AI certifications will be considered a plus

• Propensity for teamwork
