Legal Counsel

Location: Belgrade

Contract: Permanent employment (6 months probation period)

Reporting line: reports directly to Legal Manager (team size: 2)

Position Summary

HEINEKEN Serbia is looking for a proactive and business-oriented Legal Counsel to join our Legal team.

The successful candidate will be employed to provide legal support across commercial, corporate, compliance, privacy, employment and regulatory matters, while partnering closely with business functions to manage legal risks and enable business growth. This role requires a legal counsel who can combine strong legal expertise with practical business judgment and a solution-oriented approach.

Requirements

• Law degree

• Bar Exam (Pravosudni ispit)

• 3–5 years of relevant legal experience

• Fluent English (written and spoken)

• Valid Category B driving license

• Strong contract drafting skills

• Good understanding of commercial, corporate and employment law

• Strong communication, stakeholder management and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Excellent command of English is essential, as the role involves frequent interaction with regional and global stakeholders, drafting and reviewing legal documentation in English, and providing legal advice within an international business environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a multinational company and/or FMCG industry

• Experience in compliance, privacy and corporate governance matters

• Familiarity with legal technology tools, contract lifecycle management systems and AI-enabled solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements

• Provide legal advice to Commercial, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, HR, Finance and other business functions

• Support compliance programs, including Code of Business Conduct, third-party due diligence and ethics initiatives

• Advise on privacy and personal data protection matters

• Review marketing activities, promotional campaigns, prize games, contests and product labeling requirements

• Support trademark and intellectual property protection activities

• Assist with employment law matters, internal policies and HR documentation

• Coordinate litigation and external counsel activities

• Support corporate governance activities, registrations, powers of attorney and corporate housekeeping matters

• Manage legal workflows through digital tools and contract management systems (e.g. Ironclad)

• Monitor legal developments and provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance

• Deliver legal and compliance training to stakeholders

• Maintain legal templates, repositories and documentation in line with internal governance standards
