Job Description:

SAP Sales & Distribution Functional Analyst

About the role

We’re looking for an SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) Functional Analyst to join our team and play an important role in supporting and improving SAP solutions for our client.

This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in SAP SD who enjoys understanding how a business works, talking to users, solving problems and finding practical ways to make processes better.

You’ll work closely with both business users and technical teams, helping to understand what people need from SAP and turning those needs into effective solutions. You’ll be involved in everything from day-to-day support and troubleshooting through to configuration, testing, process improvements, and new developments.

You don’t need to know everything from day one. We’re particularly interested in someone who is curious, willing to learn and keen to broaden their SAP knowledge into other Logistics areas over time.

Due to the nature of the client environment, eligibility for security clearance is required for this role. To meet the current security requirements, candidates must be sole UK nationals and have lived and worked continuously in the UK for the past five years. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider dual nationals for this position.

What you'll be doing

• Working with business users to understand their requirements, challenges and day-to-day processes.

• Using your SAP SD knowledge to identify practical solutions that meet business needs.

• Helping to map current processes and design improved AS-IS and TO-BE processes.

• Configuring SAP and translating business requirements into clear functional specifications.

• Supporting the resolution of SAP SD issues, working closely with both users and technical colleagues.

• Helping to identify opportunities to improve existing processes and make better use of SAP.

• Creating and carrying out test scenarios to make sure changes work as expected.

• Supporting users through changes, including providing training and guidance where needed.

• Working with colleagues and sharing your knowledge to help others develop their SAP skills.

• Contributing to projects, enhancements and other SAP-related initiatives.

• Being open to learning and supporting other areas of SAP and Logistics functionality as your experience develops.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Relevant hands-on experience working with SAP Sales & Distribution (SD).

• Experience in business analysis, business solutions or a similar role.

• A good understanding of business processes and how SAP can support and improve them.

• Experience supporting users through business process changes or improvements.

• Experience working with both business and technical teams to resolve issues.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to listen, ask the right questions and turn business requirements into practical solutions.

• Experience creating and executing test scenarios.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• The confidence to explain technical concepts in a way that makes sense to non-technical audiences.

• A willingness to learn, develop and broaden your SAP knowledge.

An SAP certification would be great, but it isn't essential. We're also happy to support someone who is keen to work towards certification.

A degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

The kind of person who will enjoy this role

You’ll enjoy this role if you like getting to the bottom of a problem rather than simply fixing the symptom.

You’ll be comfortable speaking with different people across a business, from end users to technical specialists, and enjoy understanding what they need and finding a way to make things work.

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, curious and solutions-focused, with the confidence to take ownership while knowing when to ask for help.

Things don't always go to plan in SAP, so being able to manage changing priorities, stay calm when there are competing demands and work through problems logically is important.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to develop their skills and grow with the role, rather than someone who already knows everything.

Where you'll work

This is primarily a work-from-home role, giving you the flexibility to work remotely while remaining closely connected with the wider team and client.

There may be occasional travel to client sites for meetings, workshops or other business requirements.

From time to time, there may also be a requirement to work outside standard hours, including occasional weekends, depending on client and project requirements.

Why join us?

This is more than a role focused purely on keeping SAP running. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with users, understand real business challenges and see the impact of the solutions you help deliver.

In addition, DXC offers a competitive salary and a flexible benefits package designed to support you both professionally and personally — including pension, private medical cover, and wellbeing programmes.

You'll also have the opportunity to develop your SAP skills, gain exposure to wider Logistics functionality, and build your experience across both functional and business-facing areas.

At DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success. Our work model prioritizes in-person collaboration while offering flexibility to support wellbeing, productivity, individual work styles, and life circumstances. We’re committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
