Associate Director, Site Contracting Governance & Strategy

Position Summary The Associate Director, Site Contracting Operations provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the end‑to‑end site contracting delivery model across assigned regions. This role leads a multi‑regional team responsible for contract execution, budget integration, cycle‑time performance, systems governance, data accuracy, and operational risk mitigation. The Associate Director owns the operational strategy, resource planning, workload optimization, system adoption, process harmonization, and delivery of performance outcomes across programs and countries. This role serves as a key partner to Governance & Strategy (Pillar 1), Legal, Finance, RCO, CRO partners, and Study Teams, ensuring high‑quality, compliant, predictable contracting operations that enable trial acceleration and portfolio readiness.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Define and implement the operational strategy for regional site contracting operations, ensuring consistent, efficient, and compliant execution across the full contract lifecycle.

• Lead planning, prioritization, and capacity management across multiple regions and portfolios, ensuring alignment with study start‑up targets and organizational priorities.

• Drive cycle‑time optimization, resource forecasting, and removal of operational bottlenecks through proactive performance oversight.

• Lead, coach, and develop a multi‑regional operations team responsible for contract execution, budget translation, and multilingual template application.

• Build a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, data accuracy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

• Strengthen team capability through training, mentoring, and readiness programs aligned with the evolving operating model.

• Serve as the operational point of escalation for contracting delays, CRO performance issues, system blockers, and process breakdowns; drive cross‑functional resolution.

• Ensure consistent application of global templates, fallback language, governance rules, and country requirements across all operational teams.

• Oversee quality audits, root‑cause investigations, corrective actions, and preventive measures related to contracting operations.

• Own operational governance of the site contracting management system, ensuring data integrity, user adoption, and alignment with global process standards.

• Design, maintain, and deliver performance dashboards, analytics, and reporting packages for senior leadership, enabling data‑driven decision‑making.

• Partner with IT, Digital Capabilities, and Strategy & Governance team to define system enhancements, automation opportunities, and integration requirements.

• Act as a strategic business partner to Governance & Strategy team, providing operational insights, feasibility perspectives, and support for escalation management.

• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Clinical Operations, RCO, Procurement, and CRO partners to ensure seamless integration across functions and consistent delivery.

• Represent Site Contracting Operations in enterprise forums, governance bodies, and cross‑functional working groups.

• Lead operational improvement initiatives focused on simplification, automation, standardization, and global harmonization.

• Implement best practices, performance frameworks, knowledge management tools, and scalable operating mechanisms across the contracting network.

• Drive adoption of digital capabilities, analytics, and innovative operational models to accelerate contracting performance.

• Oversee linkage between negotiated budgets and operational contract execution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with Finance and FMV governance.

• Support operational forecasting, portfolio resourcing, planning cycles, and regional investment strategies aligned with clinical development priorities.

Requirements

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Advanced expertise in global site contracting operations, systems, performance management, and process optimization.

• Strong knowledge of clinical trial contracting frameworks, regulatory standards, financial governance, FMV, and escalation pathways.

• Proven ability to lead multi‑regional, high‑volume operational organizations with measurable performance outcomes.

• Superior capability in data‑driven decision‑making, dashboard interpretation, and operational analytics.

• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional influence at senior levels.

• Experience overseeing system governance, data integrity programs, and process automation.

• Exceptional communication, leadership presence, and change‑management capability.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or related field.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in site contracting operations or leadership.

• Leadership or management certification (preferred).

Travel Up to 20% travel for team management, stakeholder meetings, and operational oversight.

Compensation Overview: Warsaw - PL: zł361,740 - zł438,337

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. The final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience and in accordance with pay equity principles and applicable employment laws.
