About this opportunity:

This master thesis explores how autonomous AI agents can support Product System engineer’s workflow and ways of working. Existing Kiro agents for requirements engineering, analysis, traceability, review and knowledge retrieval will provide the baseline. The thesis will design and implement agents capable of planning, reasoning, using tools and completing multi-step engineering tasks. A benchmarking framework will compare the autonomous solution with current agents in realistic scenarios. The outcome will be a working prototype, evaluation results and recommendations for future AI-enabled engineering workflows and productivity improvements.

What you will do:

You will analyse Product System engineering workflows and select relevant use cases together with senior engineers and stakeholders. You will study existing Kiro agents, design autonomous agent architectures and implement a prototype supporting planning, reasoning, tool integration and multi-step execution. You will establish a reproducible benchmarking framework and compare the prototype with existing agents using realistic engineering scenarios. Evaluation will consider accuracy, quality, efficiency, traceability, task completion rate and user experience. You will analyse results, identify limitations and improvement opportunities, document the solution, and present the prototype and recommendations to the product System team.

The skills you bring:

• Ongoing MSc studies in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, with strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.

• Programming experience in Python, or a similar language.

• Familiarity with Git, APIs, cloud tools is an advantage, but not mandatory.

• Strong interest in AI/ML, large language models, autonomous agents and automation. Experience with LLMs or agent frameworks is an advantage.

• Ability to collaborate, communicate and document technical work clearly.
