JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager CIB Compliance Advisory

LOCATION(S): London, Bristol and Edinburgh

SALARY: £44,901 - £58,970 (dependant on location)

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in one of our Risk Hubs.

About this opportunity

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Compliance Advisor to join the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Conduct & Compliance team. This role offers the opportunity to build broad advisory experience across wholesale banking products, clients and regulatory matters while supporting effective business decision-making and good customer and market outcomes.

You will support the CIB Conduct & Compliance centre of excellence by providing timely, practical and risk-based advice, constructive challenge and oversight to business and risk stakeholders. You will help assess the effectiveness of the risk and control environment, identify emerging themes and ensure relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies are understood and applied proportionately across CIB.

You will develop a detailed understanding of CIB businesses, products and clients, and apply the Conduct & Compliance Risk Management Framework to support sound judgement, clear governance and effective management of regulatory risk.

Key responsibilities:

• Produce, manage and interpret management information (MI) relating to risk appetite, compliance indicators, incidents, breaches, issues and actions; synthesise information from multiple sources into clear compliance themes, insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders and governance committees.

• Support in the provision of day-to-day Conduct & Compliance advice and constructive challenge to CIB businesses on new and existing products, client propositions, transactions, processes and change initiatives.

• Research and respond to Conduct & Compliance queries, applying relevant regulations, regulatory guidance and internal policy.

• Support risk-based oversight and assurance activity, including thematic reviews, policy implementation, risk assessments and evaluation of the design and effectiveness of key controls.

• Assisting in the management of actions on Conduct & Compliance Risk incidents and breaches following Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).

What you'll need:

• Experience in a Compliance Advisory role in the Financial Services Industry is desirable.

• A self starter with natural curiosity and desire to learn and take ownership for developing your skills and capabilities.

• Organisation, planning and co-ordination skills to manage your workload and deliver team objectives.

• Keen problem-solving skills and a good ability to absorb different sources of information, so you can make relevant conclusions and recommendations to the business.

• Relationship building and collaboration skills to work with others and meet shared objectives.

• Awareness of regulatory topics of significance would be helpful, such as (but not limited to) Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, Ring Fencing requirements, Conflicts of Interest, Market Abuse, Payments and Consumer Duty.

• Experience in supporting the delivery of a risk oversight plan would also be helpful.
