Senior Platform Engineering Architect (m/f/d)

Job Description

We are looking for a multidisciplinary Senior Architect, with extensive experience in technical leadership of client projects with complex Cloud architectures and deep specialization in the area of Platform Engineering. The selected person will be technically responsible for T-Systems' most strategic projects, for which they will design the end-to-end technological solution and lead its implementation, coordinating internal and external development and architecture teams. His area of responsibility will be transversal to Platform Engineering (execution platform, SDLC, DevOps, security, observability, etc.) and will cover both the design and implementation of the solution and its subsequent adoption by operation and development teams.

Location: Madrid, Reus, Granada, Seville, Gijón, Valencia or A Coruña.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Define the optimal technological solutions for complex Platform Engineering projects, covering key aspects such as the development platform, the execution platform, the development cycle (SDLC) under the paradigms of security, performance, automation and resilience.

• Evaluate, select and adopt technologies, tools and products that improve the Software development cycle.

• Ensure that the implemented solutions meet the quality, safety and efficiency standards of T-Systems and the customer.

• Technically lead software development teams, promoting agile methodologies and best practices for coding, integration and deployment.

• Monitor the code quality, performance, scalability and security of the developed solutions.

• Define and implement DevOps and CI/CD strategies, under the paradigms of Everything as Code and GitOps.

• Lead the construction of assets that can accelerate the deployment of IDPs (Internal Developer Platforms) in clients.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards for the development team.

• Collaborate with development, operations and security teams to ensure the adoption of the Platform Engineering paradigm.

• Identify and manage technical risks, proposing innovative solutions to complex problems.

• Support the project manager in estimating efforts and planning tasks.

• Position yourself as the customer's reference/advisory technical partner and validate previously designed solutions with him.

• Encourage the iterative improvement of standards and internal practices based on the experiences gained in the projects.

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

• University degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

• More than 10 years of experience in the development and implementation of complex client software solutions, with at least 5 years as a technical leader, defining Cloud architectures and coordinating multidisciplinary teams with direct communication with the customer.

• Proven experience in implementing modern Software Development Life Cycle Management (SDLC) platforms, with IDP (Internal Developer Platform), Everything as Code (Infrastructure as Code, Policies as Code, etc.) and GitOps approaches.

• Mastery in the design and development of complex software solutions, covering the areas of application, integration and platform.

• Experience in microservice architectures, APIs, events and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container platforms.

• Strong experience in modern programming languages (Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, etc.).

• Knowledge in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and technical project management.

• Strong leadership, communication and management skills for multidisciplinary teams.

• Advanced/native Spanish.

Valuable Requirements:

• Advanced English.

• Technology certifications in Backstage, K8s, Terraform, GitHub.

Your Profile

We are looking for a multidisciplinary Senior Architect with extensive experience in technical leadership of client projects with complex Cloud architectures and deep specialization in Platform Engineering. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of software development experience, strong technical leadership capabilities, and expertise in modern development platforms, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.

Must Have Skills

• University degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field

• More than 10 years of experience in the development and implementation of complex client software solutions

• At least 5 years of experience as a technical leader

• Experience defining Cloud architectures
