Senior Functional Analyst / IT Business Analyst – Public Sector

Position Description:

As part of a project for one of our public-sector clients, CGI is looking for an intermediate or senior Functional Analyst. You will join a team of around 50 CGI professionals, including analysts, developers, technical leads, architects, testers, project managers and directors.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As a Functional Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to the analysis of business processes and the gathering of requirements in the content management domain

• Supporting the analysis of business users’ needs

• Drafting functional specifications

• Supporting the development team in understanding and implementing requirements

• Contributing to project organisation and delivery planning

• Acting as the main point of contact for the project team on functional matters

• Analysing change requests

• Creating UML and BPMN diagrams

• Supporting coordination and communication between CGI teams and client teams

• Participating in meetings and workshops related to your scope

• Drafting test scenarios and contributing to the quality of analyses, documentation and testing

• Participating in the execution of functional tests

• Supporting users during user acceptance testing phases

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You have:

• At least seven years of professional experience in the IT field

• At least five years of experience as an analyst

• At least two years of experience drafting functional specifications

• At least one year of experience drafting test scenarios and carrying out functional testing

• Knowledge of UML modelling

• Knowledge of data modelling

• A bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field

• At least a B2 level in French, both written and spoken

• At least a B2 level in English, in writing and comprehension

Additional skills considered an asset:

• Experience as a Project Manager

• Experience in business process modelling

• Knowledge of Java back-end and Angular front-end development technologies

• Knowledge of REST architectures

• Knowledge of database management systems

• Knowledge of BPMN

• Experience as an analyst on large-scale development projects involving at least seven developers
