Senior SAP Basis Administrator

Position Description:

Do you already have experience with SAP or SAP Basis and are you thinking about a change? Then you are ready to join our SAP Platform Operations team and support clients all over the world in keeping their SAP landscapes secure, available and running smoothly — on premise, at hyperscalers and in RISE with SAP environments. Today’s SAP Basis role is no longer only about classic system administration. With the move to SAP S/4HANA, cloud platforms and automated operations, we are looking for someone who wants to grow in this direction with us. Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Independent operation and administration of SAP landscapes (SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, classic NetWeaver) for international clients, including guidance and leadership of less senior colleagues

• Resolution of non-standard tasks, incidents, requests and changes on SAP Basis level, including root-cause analysis and permanent fixes

• Participation in S/4HANA conversions, release upgrades and OS/DB or cloud migrations to hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and RISE with SAP

• Operation, configuration and further development of monitoring and observability tooling (SAP Cloud ALM, Focused Run, Solution Manager, Avantra/Xandria)

• Automation of recurring Basis activities (shell/PowerShell, Python, Ansible, SAP Landscape Management) to reduce manual effort and human error

• Security and compliance of the platform — SAP Security Notes and patching cadence, system hardening, certificates, SSO and identity integration

• Work on task standardization, documentation completion and training of staff

• Self-development of your technical and soft skills towards a selected skillset and certification path

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Experience with SAP Basis for 5+ years (depending on your work scope), including hands-on SAP HANA administration

• Practical experience with SAP S/4HANA — operation, upgrade or system conversion

• Experience with SAP running at a hyperscaler (Azure, AWS or GCP) or in RISE with SAP / private cloud edition

• Good Linux administration skills (SUSE, RHEL); Windows as an advantage

• Automation and scripting mindset (shell, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, SAP Landscape Management)

• Advanced knowledge of ITIL 4 and ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow)

• Awareness of SAP security practices — Security Notes, patching, hardening, SSO/identity

• Ability to prove and develop your own technical skills independently and long term

• Very good written and spoken level of English

• University degree (Bc. and above) and SAP or hyperscaler certification as nice to have

• Good German communication skills are an added value
