Senior Test Coordinator / Test Automation Expert

Position Description:

For a long-term assignment, we are looking for a Senior Test Coordinator / Test Automation Expert who combines strong senior-level test coordination experience with hands-on expertise in test automation, test automation framework development and modern Quality Engineering practices. The role covers both project environments and Agile development teams, with a strong focus on test quality, pragmatic and risk-based testing, automation, continuous improvement and coordination between business, development and testing stakeholders.

Role context The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary testing environment supporting both projects and Agile development teams. The team combines expertise in test coordination, functional and technical testing, quality management, Quality Engineering and test automation. The ideal profile is therefore someone who can combine senior test coordination, hands-on automation expertise and a continuous improvement mindset. The person should be capable of taking ownership of the overall testing approach while also getting hands-on with automation, including building frameworks from the ground up, and should be curious and enthusiastic about how AI can further improve the testing discipline.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, plan, coordinate and follow up on test activities across projects and Agile teams.

• Define pragmatic test strategies, test plans and test approaches for complex application and integration landscapes.

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into test scenarios and test cases.

• Coordinate and execute functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.

• Take ownership of test quality across different test levels.

• Design, build, implement and maintain test automation frameworks, including the ability to establish an automation framework from the ground up where required.

• Develop and maintain automated test solutions using technologies such as TypeScript, WebdriverIO, Node.js, Cucumber or equivalent technologies.

• Identify opportunities to increase test coverage, efficiency and quality through automation.

• Support the integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Apply Requirements-Based Testing and Risk-Based Testing principles.

• Promote shift-left testing and contribute to the further professionalisation of the testing organisation.

• Actively explore and evaluate the use of AI and emerging technologies to improve software testing, test automation and Quality Engineering.

• Coach and support other testers through knowledge sharing and hands-on guidance.

• Manage stakeholders across business, development, testing, suppliers and other project stakeholders.

• Provide pragmatic recommendations on test processes, test levels, governance and automation.

• Contribute to quality management, release validation and continuous improvement within complex enterprise environments.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in software testing within complex enterprise environments.

• 8+ years of experience as a Test Specialist / Test Expert.

• 5+ years of experience with integration, regression and end-to-end testing.

• Demonstrable experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Strong experience with formal testing methods and techniques.

• Proven experience defining test strategies, test plans and test approaches for complex environments.

• Experience translating business requirements into test scenarios and test cases.

• Strong hands-on experience in test automation, including designing and implementing test automation frameworks from the ground up and maintaining them over time.

• Experience with technologies such as TypeScript, WebdriverIO, Node.js and Cucumber, or equivalent technologies.

• Experience with Requirements-Based Testing and Risk-Based Testing.

• Experience coaching or providing functional guidance to other testers.

• Strong stakeholder management skills across business, development and testing.

• Excellent communication skills, a pragmatic approach and a hands-on mindset.

• Strong interest in AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to explore and apply AI to software testing, test automation and Quality Engineering.

• Dutch and English at CEFR C2 level are required, and French at CEFR B2 level or higher is an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with API testing and release validation.

• Knowledge of Tricentis Tosca, Tosca architecture and enterprise test automation best practices.

• Experience with Quality Engineering and shift-left testing.

• Practical experience using AI-assisted testing tools or AI-driven approaches to test generation, test analysis, defect analysis or automation.
