Technical Lead - VMware Cloud Platform (m/f/d)

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Take technical ownership of the platform stream behind a large-scale classified private-cloud environment. You will lead a team of 5-7 engineers while remaining hands-on, shaping the VMware Cloud Foundation architecture and turning complex infrastructure requirements into scalable and automated solutions.

Please note: Тhe role requires onsite presence in the Netherlands three days per week, every week.

• Own the platform low-level design and VMware Cloud Foundation 9 architecture

• Lead and coach platform engineers through design, Infrastructure as Code development, proof of concept and multi-site rollout

• Remain hands-on and contribute directly to the technical implementation

• Represent the platform stream in architecture boards and formal design reviews

• Shape the platform automation approach using Ansible, Terraform and Git-based delivery

• Lead technical readiness, acceptance testing and transition-to-operations activities

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Active and transferable SECRET-level security clearance - mandatory from the start date (the clearance process can be supported by CGI)

• 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience

• 3+ years of experience leading platform or virtualisation teams

• Deep VMware SDDC / VMware Cloud Foundation expertise, including vSAN, multi-tenancy and lifecycle management

• Current VMware VCP certification - mandatory; VCAP/VCDX is an advantage

• ITIL Foundation certification - mandatory

• Good understanding of enterprise backup architecture, such as Rubrik or comparable solutions

• Practical Infrastructure as Code knowledge, particularly Ansible and Terraform

• Professional English at C1
