Quality Assurance & Compliance Director (QASP Lead)

Position Description:

The QASP Director ensures exam accuracy, timeliness, and compliance consistently exceed VA standards. They monitor performance trends, oversee clinical and operational quality, and lead corrective actions. Their oversight protects program integrity and minimizes rework.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Oversees enterprise quality assurance programs, ensuring examination accuracy, compliance, and completeness across all service groups. Manages QASP adherence, audit workflows, error-rate reduction, and timeliness metrics while driving continuous improvement in examiner performance, documentation sufficiency, and overall clinical output. Leads QA cycles, coordinates corrective actions and training updates, and delivers performance trend reporting to the VA PMO in alignment with MDEO Handbooks, M21-1, and DBQ IEPD requirements.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Oversee QASP compliance, audit processes, timeliness tracking, and error-rate reduction

• Review DBQs, exam outputs, and record packets for completeness, sufficiency, and diagnostic accuracy

• Manage QA cycles across scheduling, examiner networks, clinical operations, and supporting systems

• Track cancellations, remediation actions, and performance trends; maintain dashboards and conduct root-cause analysis

• Coordinate examiner training, improvement cycles, and corrective action plans

• Prepare and deliver monthly/quarterly quality reporting to the VA PMO

• Ensure alignment with MDEO Handbooks, M21-1 guidelines, and DBQ IEPD standards

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor's degree 6–8 years healthcare QA/QC experience Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Familiarity with disability exams or claims quality metrics

Desired qualifications/non essential skills required Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) Experience with VA QASP frameworks
