Data Governance Professional

Position Description:

We are looking for a Data Governance professional with privacy and security experience to join our Dallas/Plano, TX office. This role will help maintain and enhance our client's data management and governance processes in the Chief Data Office. This role sits at the intersection of governance, legal/compliance, and technology and will focus on operational efforts around third party management, legal compliance around data, privacy requirements, data inventory operations, and other related processes.

This position can be located in Plano, TX; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Key Responsibilities

3rd Party Data Governance

• Assist in the development, implementation, and adoption of data governance related to third parties

• Enhancement of a third party data inventory system and process

• Support certification processes for new third party transfers

Data Management and Governance

• Facilitate the execution and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance, data inventory, data protection, and records and information management (RIM) programs in line with legal, regulatory, and telecom industry requirements

• Support privacy compliance activities related to third party data sharing, vendor risk management, data retention and disposal schedules, contractual data protection requirements, and sensitive data

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Law, Business, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 3–6 years of experience in data governance, data privacy, compliance, or related data management roles

• Solid understanding of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and/or other regional/sectoral laws) and data classifications like CPNI and SPI

• Strong analytical skills with ability to review both technical documents and contracts for impact on third party data transfers

• Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain privacy/governance concepts to non technical stakeholders

• Willingness to periodically work onsite/hybrid out of the Dallas/Plano, TX office

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, or CDMP

• Prior experience in the telecommunications industry, with working knowledge of CPNI and Call Detail Records

Other Information: CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $56,600.00 $132,100.00. CGI's benefits are offered to eligible professionals on their first day of employment to include:
