An internship opportunity titled: “Optimization of the certification of avionic system modifications (m/f)” has just opened within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.

You will join the Initial Airworthiness Department responsible for carrying out the certification and qualification activities necessary to meet the development and delivery milestones of the various programs within the Airworthiness Office.

These activities mainly cover:

• The initial certification of our products,

• The certification of subsequent stages (domain extension, new variant, ...) and post-TC design modifications (after obtaining the type certificate), including technical publications,

• The flight permit (Permit to Fly) of production and prototype helicopters,

• Validation by foreign authorities of initial certifications as well as design modifications,

• Managing the schedule and priorities for all these certification activities,

• Support for deliveries,

• Support for offers.

The mission of the certification/qualification engineer is to ensure the compliance of Airbus Helicopters products with the applicable airworthiness requirements, in order to guarantee their safety in service.

This translates into a stimulating cross-functional position comprising internal negotiations but also with aviation authorities worldwide with great responsibilities and an excellent overall view of our products, our systems and our organization.

Your internship will consist of defining a harmonized certification approach for avionic certification/qualification engineers.

Ideally, this is a 6-month internship which should start in March 2027 (flexible date).

This position will require a security clearance or eligibility for clearance by recognized authorities.

Your main missions:

• Identify the different certification approaches used by the avionic CQE team

• Define with the support of the avionic CQE team the areas eligible for harmonization, for example:

  • Check the consistency of compliance documents between Means Of Compliance (MOC) and compliance documents and the editing of reference documents.
  • Control the ATA and MOCs used in Helionix
  • Collect compliance declarations used in Helionix
  • Synthesize all registered actions applicable to HLX
  • Mock-up the generation of a MOC table based on the affected area

Your tutor will support you in identifying your professional objectives and developing your skills.

This internship will allow you to develop the following skills:

The desired profile:

You are preparing a Bac+5 diploma in engineering school or equivalent.

Technical skills:

• Experience in project management would be a plus.

• Knowledge of airworthiness would be a plus.

Soft skills:

• Critical thinking

• Good communication

• Initiative

• Teamwork

Language skills:

• English: professional / advanced (B2/C1)

• French: fluent
