Executive Communications Manager (6-Month Contract)

As Schneider Electric continues to grow and evolve in Canada, the way our leaders communicate, both internally and externally, plays an important role in building visibility, connection, and trust. We are creating a new Executive Communications Manager role within our Canadian Brand & Communications team. Offered as an initial 6-month contract, this role will provide dedicated communications support to our senior leadership team, primarily the Country President. You will work closely with senior leaders and contribute directly to how they communicate and engage with employees, customers, partners, media, and industry stakeholders. You will help bring an established executive thought leadership strategy to life through clear, relevant, and thoughtful communications.

Your work will include shaping executive messages, writing speeches and LinkedIn content, preparing leaders for media interviews, and identifying timely opportunities for them to contribute to important business and industry conversations. You will also support selected internal communications, including employee town halls and leadership content.

Reporting to the Brand & Communications Leader, Canada, you will serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leaders. Beyond strong writing skills, you will bring sound judgment, confidence, and the ability to provide thoughtful and candid counsel on messaging, media opportunities, and speaking engagements. You will feel comfortable in this role if you understand the pace and sensitivity of external communications, enjoy working closely with senior leaders, and can move naturally between strategic thinking and hands-on execution. What you'll be doing

Executive Communications

• Build on and execute an established executive communications and thought leadership strategy aligned with Schneider Electric Canada’s business priorities and external positioning.

• Act as a trusted communications advisor to the Country President and other members of the Canadian senior leadership team, offering clear and thoughtful guidance on messaging and executive communications.

• Develop communications across a range of channels and formats, including speeches, presentations, talking points, briefing documents, videos, employee communications, articles, and LinkedIn content.

• Prepare senior leaders for media interviews, conferences, town halls, industry events, and other executive engagements by developing key messages, briefing materials, Q&As, and presentation content.

• Attend media interviews and selected executive engagements to provide communications support, help address sensitive topics, and ensure consistency with Schneider Electric’s messaging.

• Coordinate communications planning and content development for employee town halls and selected internal communications from the Country President.

• Provide on-site communications support for key events and executive engagements across Canada, as needed.

Thought leadership & External positioning

• Identify relevant and timely opportunities for Schneider Electric Canada’s leaders to contribute to business and industry conversations.

• Develop thought leadership content that reflects each leader’s voice while remaining aligned with Schneider Electric’s narrative and communications objectives.

• Partner with senior leaders and subject matter experts to translate technical or complex topics into clear, relevant, and accessible communications.

• Stay informed about current events and industry developments to support executive messaging and content planning.

• Collaborate with Schneider Electric’s public relations agency on media positioning, story development, media outreach, and executive opportunities.

• Review media, conference, and speaking opportunities, and provide recommendations based on their relevance, audience, timing, and alignment with business priorities.

You are an experienced communications professional who combines strong writing skills with the judgment and confidence required to advise senior leaders. You understand how to shape an executive’s voice, prepare leaders for important conversations, and turn complex topics into communications that are clear, credible, and relevant.

• You bring 8 to 10 years of experience in executive communications, corporate or external communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.

• Experience working directly with senior leaders and the confidence to provide thoughtful, clear, and candid communications advice.

• Strong media relations experience, including preparing executives for interviews, developing key messages and briefing materials, anticipating sensitive questions, and providing support during media engagements.

• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to capture an executive’s voice and adapt content across speeches, presentations, briefing documents, employee communications, articles, and social media.

• The ability to quickly understand complex business or industry topics and translate them into accessible and compelling communications.

• A strong interest in current events and industry developments, along with the ability to identify timely and relevant opportunities for executive thought leadership.

• Sound judgment, discretion, and composure when navigating sensitive topics, confidential information, and high-visibility situations.

• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver thoughtful, accurate, and high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

• A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Qualifications that would be particularly valuable

• Experience supporting a CEO, Country President, or comparable senior leadership team.

• Experience developing or executing executive thought leadership initiatives.

• Previous experience in a public relations agency or working closely with an external agency on media relations, executive positioning, or thought leadership.

• Availability to travel within Canada as required.

The expected pay range is CAD 145,800 - CAD 194,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives.
