Your Task

This role involves designing and implementing a SUSE-based virtualization platform using KVM as the hypervisor. You will be responsible for deploying and configuring storage clusters, implementing software-defined networking, and establishing comprehensive documentation and automation frameworks for SAP and non-SAP workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a SUSE-based virtualization platform using KVM as the hypervisor

• Define standard VM blueprints including CPU, RAM, storage, and network configurations for SAP and non-SAP workloads

• Deploy and configure a LINSTOR storage cluster to provide scalable, redundant block and/or object storage

• Integrate LINSTOR with the KVM platform for guest disk volumes and SAP storage needs

• Establish capacity planning, data protection, and failure handling guidelines for the software-defined storage layer

• Implement Software Defined Networking (SDN) using OpenNebula for flexible tenant isolation, micro-segmentation, and multi-tenant support

• Define security zones, firewall rules, and routing patterns aligned with SAP and enterprise requirements

• Develop high-level and low-level documents for compute, storage, network, and container orchestration areas

• Integrate new platform components into existing integration points and standard technologies such as AdminLan

• Standardize on Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and Ansible for configuration management

• Build reusable modules and roles to automate host provisioning and configuration

• Enable request, change, and incident workflows that trigger automation (Terraform, Ansible) and update CMDB where needed

• Maintain a living architecture document covering all layers including compute, storage, network, automation, observability, and integrations

• Produce operational documentation including installation guides, runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, and how-to guides for consumers such as SAP teams

• Provide lightweight project and stakeholder management to prioritize features, manage risks, and align with business and SAP roadmaps

Your Profile

We are looking for a highly skilled Virtualization and Infrastructure Engineer with extensive experience in SUSE-based virtualization platforms, software-defined storage, networking, and infrastructure automation. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in KVM, LINSTOR, SDN technologies, and Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform and Ansible.

Must Have Skills

• Experience designing and implementing SUSE-based virtualization platforms using KVM as the hypervisor

• Ability to define standard VM blueprints including CPU, RAM, storage, and network configurations for SAP and non-SAP workloads

• Experience deploying and configuring LINSTOR storage clusters to provide scalable, redundant block and/or object storage

• Experience integrating LINSTOR with KVM platforms for guest disk volumes and SAP storage needs

• Ability to establish capacity planning, data protection, and failure handling guidelines for software-defined storage layers

• Experience implementing Software Defined Networking (SDN) using OpenNebular for flexible tenant isolation, micro-segmentation, and multi-tenant support

• Ability to define security zones, firewall rules, and routing patterns aligned with SAP and enterprise requirements

• Experience developing high-level and low-level documents for Compute, Storage, Network, and Container Orchestration

• Experience integrating new platform components into existing integration points and standard technologies

• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning

• Strong knowledge of Ansible for configuration management

• Ability to build reusable modules and roles to automate host provisioning and configuration

• Ability to maintain living architecture documents covering all layers (compute, storage, network, automation, observability, integrations)
