Health can’t wait.

Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.

Alan exists to end the wait.

Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.

So we are building the** new standard in prevention insurance. **Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.

We are on an incredible journey to build a **global leading company, with a **unique culture. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.

Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 800+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.

⭐ Build the AI-native company, for real

Alan has spent 10 years developing a distinctive way of working: radical transparency, written culture, distributed decision-making, no managers, no meetings by default. This wasn't just philosophy. It was a deliberate architectural choice, and it made Alan one of the most productive companies in European tech.

Now, agentic AI empowers us to make it much more personalized. The principles that made Alan productive become the foundation for a much more ambitious journey: a company where AI agents handle organizational complexity, surface the right context instantly, and let every person focus on the work that matters.

As a Software Engineer on this team, you will:

• Build the AI-powered internal platform that every Alaner uses daily to navigate the company, find context, and take action.

• Design and ship intelligent agents that automate real organizational workflows: onboarding, knowledge retrieval, performance alignment, decision support.

• Push LLMs into production for structured reasoning, agentic task execution, and deep integration with internal tools.

• Define the primitives and abstractions of AI-native work, the patterns that scale across every team and every country Alan operates in.

• Replace generic tools (HRIS, performance reviews, IAM) with opinionated, Alan-native software that compounds with our culture.

• Build and scale our Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and user lifecycle across 25+ systems.

• Collaborate with product, design, security and leadership to turn Alan's cultural principles into software that amplifies them.

Why this role is special

• Alan's written, transparent, async culture generates an extraordinary volume of structured organizational knowledge. Most companies can't feed AI agents with high-quality internal data. Alan already can.

• The team is building a full AI-native operational layer from scratch, not adding copilots to legacy tools.

• Every Alaner uses what you ship, every day. The feedback loop between building and impact is immediate.

• The work sits at the frontier of applied AI: agents, retrieval-augmented generation, structured outputs, tool use, human-in-the-loop design.

• The ambition goes beyond Alan. The patterns you build here could define how high-performance companies operate in the AI era.

? Your playground

• Stack: Python/Flask, React, PostgreSQL, plus deep integration with LLM APIs and internal AI infrastructure.

• What you'll do: design and ship AI-native tools that power how Alan works. automated workflows, organizational navigation, agentic assistants.

• Impact: your work shapes the daily experience of every Alaner and builds the playbook for the AI-native company.

? Who we're looking for

• Software engineers of all experience levels, ideally with backend or full-stack experience.

• Genuinely excited about AI and eager to explore what LLMs, agents, and retrieval systems can do inside a real product.

• Comfortable building in fast-moving territory where the right abstractions don't exist yet.

• Well-versed in OOP languages (Python, Java, C#) and modern web technologies.

• Fluent in English (French is a plus but not required).

• Curious, self-starting, humble, collaborative, and eager to grow.

? Perks & benefits

• Fair rewards & equity packages.

• Flexible office & remote options.

• Top-tier equipment: MacBook Pro, monitor, noise-canceling headphones.

• Flexible vacation & hours.

• Comprehensive healthcare for you, children, and partners.

• Transport support and coaching for personal growth.

• Training budget for conferences, courses, books.

• Extended parental leave for all parents.

? Recruitment note

? We hire people, not roles. Don't worry if you don't check every box. High potential and curiosity matter most. We may even suggest another team if we see a better fit.
