Mid-Level
Design the solution. Own the technical decisions. See it working in the real world. At Schneider Electric, we are looking for a Medium Voltage Technical Leader to join our project execution team in Iberia. This is not only a design role. You will work on complex Medium Voltage electrical distribution projects, taking responsibility for the technical solution from engineering and design through validation, testing and commissioning. You will collaborate with customers, project managers and specialists across different electrical domains, working on projects in sectors such as Data Centers, Utilities, Transportation and Renewable Energy.
You will become the technical reference for Medium Voltage within your projects. That means:
Designing and validating Medium Voltage electrical distribution solutions.
Translating customer requirements into robust technical architectures.
Defining switchgear, transformers, protection and associated control solutions.
Reviewing electrical diagrams, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
Making and defending technical decisions during project execution.
Identifying technical risks before they become project issues.
Coordinating interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
Working directly with customers, suppliers and project teams.
Participating in FAT, SAT, energisation and commissioning activities.
Supporting installation and site activities when required.
Ensuring that what was designed is correctly implemented and commissioned.
In short, you will not simply deliver engineering documentation. You will follow the technical solution throughout its lifecycle and help turn the design into a working electrical installation.
An electrical engineer with a solid foundation in Medium Voltage who wants to continue growing technically while taking progressively more ownership of customer projects. You may currently be working in:
Electrical engineering or project design.
Medium Voltage project execution.
Commissioning or field services.
Protection and control.
An EPC, system integrator, electrical contractor or equipment manufacturer.
Ideally, you will bring around 2–5 years of relevant experience, although we are more interested in your technical foundation, curiosity and potential than in an exact number of years.
Your technical background
You should be comfortable with several of these areas:
Medium Voltage electrical distribution.
MV switchgear.
Transformers.
Electrical schematics.
Protection systems and relays.
Technical documentation and electrical engineering.
FAT, SAT or commissioning.
Knowledge of technologies such as IEC 61850, Modbus, protection relay configuration, EcoStruxure architectures, AutoCAD, EPLAN or SEE Electrical will be an advantage.
Technical knowledge matters, but it is not enough. We are looking for someone who:
Enjoys understanding how electrical systems really work.
Takes ownership rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
Is comfortable discussing technical decisions with customers and colleagues.
Enjoys solving problems in real project environments.
Can work across different engineering disciplines.
Learns quickly and is motivated to deepen their expertise.
Wants a role combining engineering, project execution and field experience.
Languages and mobility
Spanish: required.
English: B2 or higher.
Portuguese: an advantage.
The role includes travel mainly across Spain and Portugal for project activities, testing and commissioning, with occasional international travel depending on project needs.
Because the best engineering does not end when the drawings are finished. You will have the opportunity to work on electrical distribution projects from concept to commissioning, alongside experienced technical specialists and multidisciplinary teams. You will develop your expertise in Medium Voltage while progressively becoming a recognised Technical Leader capable of owning increasingly complex electrical solutions and projects. If you want to combine engineering, technical responsibility, customer interaction and real field experience, we would like to meet you.
Hands-on experience managing technical scope across the full project lifecycle
Mentorship from experienced engineers in a collaborative, supportive environment
Exposure to diverse industries and innovative power system technologies
Clear pathways for career growth in technical execution and engineering leadership
