Job Title: Project Safety Assurance Manager

At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can’t afford to fail. We’re more than 85 000 people worldwide creating the industry’s most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.

More than a job: a mission

We’re looking for a Project Safety Assurance Manager to ensure that the safety of our signalling solutions is embedded throughout every stage of the project lifecycle. This is a critical role focused on delivering safe, compliant and reliable railway systems that keep passengers and cities moving. You’ll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication - because they know what’s at stake: the journey home.

Your role, your impact

• Coordinate all Safety Assurance activities throughout signalling projects

• Define Safety Plans and manage safety workload, priorities and planning

• Perform safety analyses, manage Hazard Logs and review design, V&V and testing activities from a safety perspective

• Build Safety Reports and Safety Cases in line with project requirements and standards

• Defend Safety Case argumentation with internal and external assessors and drive closure of findings

• Provide technical leadership and guidance across project phases, from tender through commissioning and warranty

• Ensure compliance with CENELEC standards and safety assurance methodologies

• Lead and support Safety Assurance Engineers assigned to project.

You’ll work with sharp, committed teams across engineering, project management and system delivery - solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility.

What you bring

• Engineering degree

• More than 5 years of experience in railway signalling safety projects

• Experience with CBTC solutions preferred; IXL, ERTMS Trackside or ERTMS Onboard experience also considered

• Fluent English and Spanish

• Strong knowledge of Safety Assurance methodologies and artefacts, including Safety Plans, PHA, FMECA, FTA, IHA, OSHA, SRIL, Hazard Logs, V&V Safety Reports and Safety Cases

• Experience working in multi-site and multicultural project environments

• Ability to provide technical leadership and influence stakeholders across project teams

How success is measured

• Quality, completeness and timeliness of safety deliverables

• Effective management of safety risks and compliance with applicable standards

• Successful assessment outcomes and closure of safety findings

• Contribution to project milestones through proactive safety leadership

• Collaboration, coaching and support provided to project teams and safety engineers

Alstom, a great place to grow

• Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

• Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

• Contribute to innovative projects

• Utilise our cooperative working environment

• Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

• Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

• Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage

Here, progress isn’t always easy - the scale is massive, the tasks are complex - but the impact is real. Because when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects - that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.
