If you thrive in a dynamic environment, approach challenges with curiosity, and want to help shape what’s next, this is your opportunity to make a real difference.

The Team

Procurement within ING is headed by the Group Chief Procurement Officer (CPO). The Group CPO is responsible for the procurement and real estate function and countries functionally report into the CPO. The objective is to maximize the business benefits ING gets from its suppliers and ensure the integrity of the supply chain, while operating efficiently and with sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

The Tribe Lead Technology reports hierarchically and functionally into the Group Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and is a member of the Global Procurement MT.

Tribe Lead Technology Procurement leads a global team to develop, implement, and execute an organisation-wide procurement technology category strategy covering global and local technology procurement spend that optimizes employee capabilities, achieves the organisation's strategic objectives, liaises with key stakeholders, coordinates global and local procurements projects in order to deliver competitive advantage through cost base reductions.

Category Management is a critical procurement discipline to ensure ING achieves best value for money when it comes to procuring its goods and services. It is a well-established, comprehensive, and marketing leading procurement approach that considers ING’s organisational goals, technology strategy, objectives, and requirements, as well as the technology market conditions and innovations, to ensure the most cost-effective, innovative and efficient procurement of goods and services.

The Tribe Lead Technology Category will use their deep technology knowledge to understand market trends, create and manage commercially robust vendor relationships, and optimise all aspects of vendor selection. This role will manage the complexity from rapid evolution of technology, diverse global markets, and the need to navigate global logistical challenges while staying updated with emerging trends and regulations globally. Ultimately, technology expertise empowers the category manager to develop the category strategy, make informed decisions, mitigate risks, and streamline processes for successful global operations.

The challenge is not only building the capabilities, but also embedding their usage and application across the global organisation.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Setting the delivery of technology category management across all in-scope global services, consolidating the bottom-up plans and objectives at a regional level into a single category strategy aligned clearly to company-wide priorities and with corresponding plans.

• The execution of agreed initiatives to improve cost, reduce risk, drive ESG improvements and enhance colleagues experience across the Group and to ensure effective implementation of the Banks and Procurement's goals.

• Developing deep insight into global technology spend, contracts, business requirements and market dynamics to identify opportunities, shape sourcing priorities and deliver best-in-class solutions for ING.

• Driving commercial value and operational excellence across the technology category through strategic sourcing, demand management, standardisation, simplification, digitisation and the implementation of scalable commercial models that leverage ING's global spend.

• Building and managing strategic supplier partnerships to enhance service performance, foster innovation, mitigate category risks and deliver sustainable value throughout the supplier lifecycle.

• Establishing and leading governance, policies and decision-making forums that align stakeholders on category priorities, ensure effective execution and provide transparent reporting on performance and outcomes.

• Leading, developing and inspiring a high-performing global procurement team, fostering collaboration, inclusion, capability growth and strong partnerships across Global Procurement and local procurement teams.

• Undertaking regular market research harnessing leading benchmarks and research insights to identify and deliver best-in-class solutions for ING.
