LDI Risk Intern

Within the Risk Management unit, the team focuses on LDI risk management and is responsible for conducting evaluations and analyses to ensure the effective oversight of portfolio risks. It defines the methodologies and processes used to analyse and monitor key risk factors, ensuring the identification, measurement, and control of risks related to investment activities and to the management of portfolios and funds operating under Liability‑Driven principles.

The candidate will operate in a highly international setting, gaining exposure to a broad range of stakeholders across Risk Management, Investments and insurance entities within the Generali Group. In particular, the candidate will perform del following activities:

• Support the monitoring and assessment of insurance portfolio risk profiles through quantitative and qualitative analyses, contributing to risk reporting activities, the preparation of materials for Investment and Risk Committees, and the delivery of risk insights supporting investment decision-making processes.

• Support the enhancement of the Portfolio Risk Profile framework, contributing to the development of more effective, forward-looking and scalable monitoring capabilities through advanced analytics and process innovation.

• Contribute to the development, testing and implementation of new risk methodologies, monitoring tools and analytical solutions, supporting their integration into the Risk Management framework and exploring the application of emerging technologies.

• Master's degree (or currently pursuing) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Data Science or other quantitative disciplines.

• Good understanding of financial markets, investment instruments and portfolio management concepts, with particular interest in fixed income investment strategies.

• Knowledge of financial risk management concepts, including market, credit and liquidity risk.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with familiarity in statistical analysis and data interpretation.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Basic knowledge of programming languages and data analytics tools (e.g. Python, SQL, VBA, Power BI or similar).

• Interest in data-driven decision making, advanced analytics and emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, applied to financial services.

• Fluent English (written and spoken) is required.

• Knowledge of additional European languages would be considered an advantage.
