This role owns the strategic direction, market positioning, and profitable growth of the Specialty Vehicle and Power Sports segments, developing and leading market plans that define target segments, growth priorities, key account strategies, pricing direction, and product line opportunities. The Market Manager translates market intelligence, customer application needs, competitor activity, and product performance data into actionable recommendations supporting revenue growth, margin improvement, and long range strategic planning.

This person manages key accounts strategically to drive continued usage of current products and ensure the company can quote new product opportunities as they arise, working alongside Field Sales Engineers and Reps to build strategic relationships and identify which customer contacts own purchasing, engineering, and marketing decisions. The role involves identifying key opportunities, positioning the company as a source solution for customer application needs, and guiding which opportunities move forward to internal work groups, while ensuring the APQP development system is consistently followed for all project deliverables. The Market Manager provides clear, consistent information to internal and external customers, develops and leads annual business plans for the assigned segments covering market size, share, growth targets, key accounts, product opportunities, pricing, and risks, and conducts ongoing market analysis using customer input, research, trade events, industry networks, CRM data, and sales input to identify trends and growth opportunities. This person monitors competitor offerings, pricing, and strategic moves, communicating threats and opportunities to the Director of Sales and Senior Management, and leads market capture and gap analysis to identify priority growth opportunities across applications, customer segments, and product categories. Additional responsibilities include recommending pricing strategies based on market value, competition, and profitability objectives, monitoring product profitability to guide redesign, cost reduction, repricing, or discontinuation decisions, and translating market and customer input into roadmap recommendations with Engineering, Product Management, and Sales. The role also covers developing key account plans, preparing annual sales plans and Five Year Plan input, coordinating outside sales around target accounts and opportunity priorities, ensuring ERP/Infor accurately reflects market and opportunity information, and supporting APQP launches by ensuring customer requirements and Phase One deliverables are identified and completed on schedule.
Strong negotiation skills combined with deep working knowledge of product lines to influence customer selections
Ability to assess market size, share, trends, customer applications, competitor activity, and growth opportunities
Ability to develop market plans, set priorities, align resources, and convert strategy into measurable business actions
Ability to build strong customer relationships and develop account plans supporting retention and growth
Ability to evaluate pricing, product cost, margins, profitability, and financial performance of assigned markets
Strong understanding of company products, customer applications, manufacturing capabilities, and product performance requirements
Ability to lead through influence across Sales, Engineering, Product Management, APQP, Customer Service, and outside sales representatives
Working knowledge of APQP requirements and ability to support Phase One deliverables and launch readiness
Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, QMS, EMS, and customer specific quality requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills across customers, sales representatives, technical teams, and senior leadership
Ability to accurately maintain account, opportunity, contact, call report, and market information in CRM and related business systems
Experience using CRM data, sales history, market research, and financial information to support business recommendations
Structured problem solving experience supporting continuous improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives
Background in specialty vehicle, power sports, or related industrial/OEM markets
