The Senior Systems Engineer performs total-system analysis throughout the product lifecycle, including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. The role converts customer and product requirements into integrated system solutions while accounting for technical, schedule, cost, supportability, and risk constraints.
As a Sr Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation.
Conduct total-system cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses.
Evaluate technical alternatives using appropriate system-level criteria.
Manage configuration processes and changes.
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies.
Allocate system requirements to subsystems and components.
Define and manage interfaces among mechanical, electrical, controls, and software elements.
Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Conduct architectural exploration and evaluate alternative system solutions.
Decompose customer specifications and system-level requirements into subsystem and piece-part requirements.
Develop verification criteria and verification plans for allocated requirements.
Apply model-based design tools and methods across systems, equipment, and applications.
Work across the complete product offering rather than concentrating only on an individual component.
Incorporate regulatory and compliance requirements across the product lifecycle.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of HVAC systems/mechanical engineering experience or Masters degree and 3+ years of HVAC systems/mechanical engineering experience.
Design major components and interfaces.
Understand practical scaling, reliability, and maintainability trade-offs.
Help junior engineers increase their proficiency through technical guidance, demonstrations, and recommendations.
Improve engineering quality across the organization.
Contribute to technical reviews, support activities, and executive presentations.
Understand customer needs and connect engineering work to business goals.
Support iterative product development.
