Supports resort operations by maintaining, repairing, programming, and securing mechanical and electronic locking systems throughout the property. This position is responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting locks, safes, keys, access control systems, and related security devices while ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and company assets. The Locksmith works closely with resort operations leadership to support preventive maintenance programs, work order completion, and property security initiatives.
As Locksmith & Safe Technician, you will:
Install, repair, replace, rebuild, and maintain mechanical and electronic locking systems throughout the resort
Diagnose and repair lock malfunctions, including padlocks, door locks, safe locks, cylinders, tumblers, springs, and associated hardware
Program, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic door locks and access control systems utilizing applicable software and devices, including Ilco FDU equipment
Install, repair, and replace locks on doors, safes, cabinets, drawers, gates, and other property assets
Rekey locks and maintain master key systems while ensuring proper key control procedures are followed
Cut, duplicate, issue, and track keys upon proper authorization
Open, repair, and service safes utilizing approved methods and techniques
Respond to lockout situations involving guest rooms, resort facilities, company vehicles, and equipment as directed by management
Maintain accurate records and inventory of locks, keys, cores, access credentials, and security devices throughout the property
Complete preventive maintenance inspections and repairs as assigned by resort leadership
Properly document work performed and electronically close work orders utilizing HotSOS and other applicable resort systems
Maintain assigned vehicle, work area, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, key-cutting equipment, and locksmith-specific tools required for the position
Recognize and report potential safety, security, or operational concerns affecting resort operations
Communicate professionally with guests, team members, vendors, and leadership while providing exceptional service
Support after-hours, weekends, emergency calls, and extended work schedules as business needs require
Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies, procedures, and safety standards
Represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior at all times
Perform other duties as assigned by resort operations leadership

High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of two (2) years of locksmith experience required
Previous hospitality, resort, property management, or guest service experience strongly preferred
Experience working with electronic lock systems, access control systems, and safe maintenance preferred
Valid TN drivers license in order to operate company golf cart
Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Required to pass a background screen, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States
