What are we looking for?

At Babel Chile we are looking for QA Automation Engineers to join agile development teams that participate in medium and high complexity technological projects for our clients.

We are looking for profiles with practical experience in quality assurance on backend systems, services and integrations via APIs, with interest and ability to actively participate in both functional testing and automation, validating flows between systems and integrating tests within CI/CD processes.

What will be your focus in this role? You will be part of the continuous quality process, contributing to ensure the correct functioning of services, integrations and backend components, through the execution of functional, regression, exploratory and automated tests, working together with development teams under agile methodologies.

Main responsibilities

• Design, execute and maintain functional and automated test cases for backend systems, services and APIs.

• Define test plans, scenarios and test data considering functional and technical risk.

• Execute functional, regression and exploratory tests on backend flows and integrations.

• Validate the correct integration between systems, services and APIs.

• Automate services and APIs tests.

• Participate in the integration of automated tests in existing CI/CD pipelines.

• Analyze execution results, report findings and generate quality metrics.

• Actively collaborate with development teams and other business areas in agile environments.

Exclusive requirements

• Between 2 and 4 years of experience in software QA.

• Experience in functional QA and QA automation with a focus on backend, services and APIs.

• Experience designing and executing tests on integrations between systems.

• Knowledge or experience in BDD approach for test case design (Gherkin / Cucumber).

• Practical experience in validation and automation of REST and/or SOAP APIs.

• Experience working with Jira and test management tools such as XRay (or similar).

• Management of Git and/or GitLab.

• Knowledge of at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript or Python).

Technical knowledge (valued)

• APIs and services: Postman, Karate, SoapUI

• BDD: Cucumber / Gherkin

• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI

• Build & data: Maven, SQL

• Automation: automation frameworks (Selenium / Katalon as desirable)

• Performance: JMeter (desirable)

It will be a plus if you also have

• Experience in projects in the telecommunications sector.

• Experience validating complex integrations between multiple systems.

• Good judgment to prioritize tests according to risk.

• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.

• Experience in automated regression.

Working conditions

• Immediate availability is required (September)

• Remote modality

• Fixed-term contract, with possibilities of extension and moving to indefinite depending on performance and availability of new projects.
