We are looking for a Merchandising Manager, Apparel with a strong product eye, deep understanding of menswear, and a passion for consumer and marketplace insights.
You are highly curious about how consumers live, shop, and engage with fashion across APAC markets. You stay connected to emerging trends, competitive landscapes, cultural movements, and market shifts, translating these insights into relevant and commercial product assortments.
You understand the balance between brand vision, consumer demand, and business objectives, and are comfortable working cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, Planning, Sales, and Global Merchandising teams. You bring a strong understanding of the menswear business and can confidently brief product needs, identify opportunities, and influence product decisions that strengthen Timberland's position in the market.
This role requires a hyper-local mindset and a deep appreciation of the diverse consumers across APAC. The ideal candidate can interpret market insights and consumer trends into compelling product stories and assortments that drive growth while staying true to Timberland's Rugged American Craft DNA.
Conduct ongoing consumer, marketplace, trend, and competitive research across APAC markets to identify emerging opportunities, white spaces, and category growth drivers.
Translate consumer insights, market intelligence, and trend analysis into actionable merchandising recommendations and seasonal product briefs.
Partner with Global Merchandising, Design, Product Development, and Planning teams to ensure product strategies align with regional consumer needs and market opportunities.
Develop and deliver comprehensive seasonal merchandising briefs, with a strong focus on menswear, outlining consumer needs, product opportunities, key trends, pricing architecture, and market requirements.
Build market-relevant assortments across Digital, Retail, Outlet, Wholesale, and Partner channels that balance consumer demand, commercial performance, and brand integrity.
Support the creation and execution of APAC capsule collections and regional product initiatives from concept through market delivery.
Analyze product performance, category trends, sell-through, and marketplace dynamics to recommend assortment optimizations and future opportunities.
Drive channel segmentation and assortment differentiation to maximize productivity while maintaining a consistent brand point of view.
Partner closely with Planning and Marketplace teams to support seasonal line reviews, assortment decisions, and business opportunities across APAC markets.
Monitor competitive brands, pricing, product innovations, and cultural trends to ensure Timberland remains relevant and competitive within the marketplace.
Support pricing recommendations and product positioning strategies that balance consumer expectations, competitive benchmarks, and margin objectives.
Build strong relationships with regional and global stakeholders, effectively communicating market insights, product opportunities, and assortment strategies.
7+ years of merchandising experience working within global fashion or lifestyle brand
APAC Regional experience
Bachelor’s degree or above in Merchandising, Marketing, Fashion or related disciplines
Strong product sensibility with a clear understanding of trends, consumer behavior and the competitive landscape
Proved ability to manage complex, multi-market and multi-channel assortments
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
Solid experience on SMU development and collaboration with other brands
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
Willingness to travel as needed
