Job Description
As a Commodity Manager you are responsible for the overall procurement of an assigned commodity portfolio.
Take ownership of a diverse commodity portfolio covering Injection Moulded, Lines & Hoses, Rubber and Rubber-to-Metal components with the opportunity to further develop and shape the commodity strategy
Combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, from defining sourcing strategies and mitigating supply risks to negotiating contracts, developing suppliers, and delivering cost, quality, and performance improvements
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, reliability, and performance of your commodity’s systems
You will act as the ‘spider in the web’ between external suppliers and the internal customers
Close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics, enabling you to build a strong internal network, drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure timely project execution
Align supplier roadmaps with PACCAR’s long-term technology strategy
You will be active in early supplier involvement in new developments. In addition, you constantly engage in conducting market research and benchmarking in order to respond quickly to new market trends
Your profile
You have a completed bachelor or master degree in e.g. commercial automotive engineering, or (technical) business studies;
You have 2 - 5 years work experience with the ambition to grow as a professional buyer in the automotive industry;
You possess good communication skills, are representable and a skilled negotiator;
You have excellent communication skills in English.
