Join our Tax Operations team in Frankfurt and take on a role where your work directly strengthens the client experience and the firm’s regulatory excellence. As a Tax Operations Associate, you’ll support German and Swiss clients with timely, accurate tax service—owning client requests from first contact through resolution and ensuring critical tax information and documentation is managed with precision.
You’ll execute core tax operations processes and controls, support relief at source and retrospective reclaim activities, and help clients stay ahead of outstanding or expiring documentation. Working closely with cross-functional partners and our global tax team, you’ll apply your knowledge of German depot bank tax duties, the German Investment Tax Act, and international source tax to identify risks early, solve issues efficiently, and continuously improve operational processes. As a Tax Operations Associate in Frankfurt, you will play a pivotal role in delivering best-in-class tax services to our German and Swiss clients. You will be the first point of contact for client requests, managing inquiries and distributing tax information with professionalism and accuracy. Your daily responsibilities will include executing tax operations processes and controls, ensuring regulatory tax obligations are met within expected timeframes, and supporting clients with outstanding or expiring tax documentation.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work closely with stakeholders across departments and the global tax team, leveraging your expertise in international source tax to provide seamless service. Your proactive approach will help identify and resolve tax risks, and you will contribute to client tax account reviews and ad-hoc projects, continually seeking opportunities to enhance operational processes.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for client tax requests
Manage inquiries and distribute tax information to clients
Execute daily tax operations processes and controls
Support clients with outstanding and expiring tax documentation
Support relief at source and retrospective reclaim processes
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments and the global tax team
Identify and escalate tax risks, participating in resolution
Assist in client tax account reviews and ad-hoc projects
Continually review and enhance operational tax processes
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Initial experience in a tax environment
Working knowledge of tax duties of a depot bank in Germany
Familiarity with German Investment Tax Act, and international source tax
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mainframe systems
Fluency in English and German (spoken and written)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking abilities
Motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline
Experience in operational tax within financial services, especially global custody or investment banking
Demonstrated risk awareness and operational control
Process improvement experience
Proven track record in accuracy and meeting strict deadlines
Strong client focus
