Position Title: Senior IT Applications Administrator
Position Reports To: VP of IT
Position Summary
The Senior IT Applications Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of business applications across the company. This position serves as a senior-level technical resource and subject matter expert for assigned applications, providing advanced Tier 2/Tier 3 support, leading application enhancements and implementations, and partnering with business stakeholders to develop technology solutions that improve business processes.
The Senior IT Applications Administrator independently evaluates complex business requirements, translates those requirements into scalable application solutions, and makes configuration and technical recommendations that support business objectives. The position works closely with business leaders, end users, IT teams, vendors, and other technical resources to ensure applications are secure, reliable, well-integrated, and aligned with evolving organizational needs.
This role is expected to take ownership of assigned applications and projects, provide technical guidance to less experienced team members, and serve as a key point of escalation for complex application issues.
Essential Functions
Serves as a senior-level subject matter expert for assigned enterprise business applications, providing advanced technical and functional guidance to IT and business stakeholders.
Provides Tier 2/Tier 3 application support, independently analyzing and resolving complex application issues and determining appropriate resolution strategies.
Owns the administration, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of assigned enterprise applications
Designs, configures, and maintains application functionality, workflows, business processes, user access, security roles, permissions, integrations, and other system settings based on complex business requirements.
Independently evaluates business requirements and translates them into effective, scalable application solutions while considering system capabilities, downstream impacts, data integrity, and long-term maintainability
Leads or serves as a key technical resource for application implementations, deployments, upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and major system changes.
Partners directly with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand business processes, identify system gaps, and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Leads requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support for assigned application initiatives.
Develops and executes testing strategies, including unit, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, to validate application changes before production deployment.
Investigates complex application issues, performs root-cause analysis, and develops permanent solutions rather than relying solely on workarounds.
Partners with development teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, consultants, and other technical resources to troubleshoot and resolve complex application and integration issues.
Evaluates application capabilities and new functionality and makes recommendations regarding enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and opportunities for improved utilization.
Maintains ownership of application documentation, including configuration documentation, process flows, technical procedures, support documentation, and standard operating procedures
Identifies opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve business processes through application functionality and technology solutions.
Participates in application architecture and solution discussions, providing recommendations regarding configuration, integrations, data flow, and system design within areas of responsibility.
Assesses the potential business and technical impact of application changes and proactively identifies risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Provides guidance, training, and technical support to application users and less experienced IT team members.
Serves as a mentor and resource to other application support personnel, sharing technical knowledge, troubleshooting approaches, and application best practices.
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with business stakeholders, IT leadership, vendors, and technical partners.
Maintains a strong understanding of supported applications and the business processes they enable, serving as a trusted advisor regarding application capabilities and solutions.
Supports application governance, data integrity, security, access management, and compliance requirements within assigned systems.
Stays current on application functionality, industry practices, technology trends, and vendor product roadmaps to identify opportunities that may benefit the organization.
Takes ownership of assigned application-related projects and initiatives, managing priorities, timelines, dependencies, and communication with stakeholders.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives and contributes to the development of application strategies and roadmaps.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
6+ years of progressive experience supporting, administering, configuring, implementing, or optimizing enterprise business applications.
Demonstrated experience independently administering and configuring enterprise applications in a production environment.
Demonstrated experience providing advanced Tier 2/Tier 3 application support and resolving complex technical and functional issues.
Experience leading or serving as a technical lead for application implementations, deployments, upgrades, integrations, or major enhancements.
Experience gathering and analyzing business requirements and translating them into application solutions.
Experience working directly with business leaders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to design and implement solutions.
Experience with enterprise SaaS applications and business systems.
Experience with Salesforce strongly preferred.
Experience with application integrations, workflows, security roles, permissions, and system configuration preferred.
Experience mentoring, guiding, or providing technical direction to other team members preferred.
