Role Summary

As a Web Engineer, you will join an agile engineering team responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining web-based banking solutions for ING entities around the world. You'll work with modern frontend technologies and contribute to products that support customers in their daily financial lives.

This role is ideal for a mid-to-senior-level engineer who combines strong technical expertise with collaboration, innovation, and a customer-first mindset. You'll have opportunities to mentor peers, contribute to engineering standards, and help drive the evolution of our digital banking platforms.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications and banking features

• Deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable code that meets business and customer needs

• Participate in code reviews and champion engineering best practices

• Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, designers, and stakeholders across multiple countries

• Take ownership of systems and services in production environments

• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and developer experience

• Contribute to technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Support and mentor fellow engineers while helping strengthen our engineering culture

• Reduce technical debt and help modernize existing solutions through innovative approaches

Required Skills

We're looking for professionals who bring:

• 3+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years focused on frontend development

• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs

• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, Lit, Svelte, or similar technologies

• Solid understanding of modern frontend architecture, including Micro Frontends

• Experience with Web Components and related tooling

• Familiarity with Storybook, Open-WC, Rollup, or similar development tools

• Experience with testing frameworks and tools such as Jest, Karma, Cypress, Web Test Runner, and Postman

• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and software delivery practices

• Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows

• Knowledge of web accessibility principles and standards

• Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across international teams

• A customer-focused approach, mentoring mindset, and passion for continuous improvement
