Repsol has an opening for a Geologist Sedimentologist Intern located in The Woodlands, Texas.
Internship Details:
Position will be based out of our office in The Woodlands, TX. Interns are expected onsite Monday-Friday, with the exception of 9/80's. The 9/80 schedule is optional per the manager's discretion, based on intern project scope and timeline.
Non-local candidates may be considered but must arrange their own travel and temporary accommodations. A summer stipend will be provided to help offset out of pocket expenses.
Students must be available for the full duration of the internship from May 17th - Aug 6th. Any personal time off must be approved by the supervisor as unpaid leave and should be noted with the recruiter as early as possible.
Interns will receive an hourly wage but are not eligible for benefits or paid time off. Interns will be compensated for observed company holidays.
Responsibilities
Support geologists and geo‑modelers with day‑to‑day project activities
Assist with data gathering, organization, and quality control of geological and subsurface datasets
Help prepare maps, cross‑sections, models, figures, and supporting technical documentation
Participate in subsurface interpretation, modeling, and review discussions as appropriate
Contribute to presentations and reports used for internal project updates
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as geophysics, engineering, and reservoir disciplines
Follow established safety standards, procedures, and company policies
Complete an assigned internship project and present findings at the conclusion of the program
Qualifications
Fully authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.
Successful completion of 2 years towards a Bachelor's (or higher) in Geology or a related geoscience field (Earth Science, Environmental Science, Geophysics)
Must be a currently enrolled student for the Fall 2027 semester. Candidates should not have graduated before the start of the internship.
Detail-oriented, a strong analytical background
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
Demonstrate an understanding and enthusiasm for the oil and gas industry
Strong written and oral communication skills with a variety of technical and non‑technical staff
Able to work independently and within a team
Professional conduct is fundamental to success in this position
Proven organizational and time management skills
