Summary

The Community Clinical Educator is responsible for the coordination, tracking, and evaluation of the education of licensed and non-licensed clinical care team members in compliance with EverTrue Clinical Education Council standards and State and Federal regulations. Maintains the Core Values that support the Christian Mission of EverTrue, “Older Adults Living Life to the Fullest.”

Responsibilities

1. Serves as a member of the Clinical Education council and participates in council activities such as the EverTrue Annual Symposium

2. Provides education and training at assigned EverTrue community or communities as designated by the Clinical Education Council

3. Provides education and training to all levels of care

4. Delivers an orientation program which includes assessment and skills validation to assure each new team member is adequately prepared to perform their assigned clinical role

5. Supports the clinical practices related to documentation using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) during the orientation process an ongoing as identified by staff requests, supervisor recommendation, and/or periodic audits

6. Monitors and evaluates clinical education needs in collaboration with assigned community leadership

7. Coordinates education with other EverTrue departments for community-required training such as safety and HIPAA compliance

8. Monitors, evaluates, and delivers clinical education accordingly in preparation for annual state surveys

9. Delivers clinical education to address items identified by state surveyors both annually and as needed

10. Serves as an informational resource for a specific area of expertise as assigned by the Director of Workplace Education and Development, e.g. , dementia training, infection control, fall prevention, etc.

11. Participates in the Clinical Education Council and other committees related to education and other training initiatives

12. Assists with identifying educational needs both system wide and at the community/service line levels; Works with the Director of Workplace Education and Development on the development of formal curriculum to meet the needs of both the individual community and/or EverTrue system

13. Participates in the design and development of education and training for all clinical direct line, supervisory and leadership employees

14. Remains current on all training requirements per regulatory agencies, as well as all clinical tools utilized by an EverTrue clinician, e.g. glucometers, medical equipment, etc.

15. Serves as a content expert for all the clinical policy and procedures and is able to assist in explaining them to all clinicians when applicable

16. Coordinates training sessions with community leadership and Human Resources Managers, specifically new employee orientation for clinicians

17. Travels to multiple EverTrue sites bringing training sessions to employees

18. Prepares all needed communications for training sessions

19. Maintains record system by inputting and tracking employee participation

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• -Current Licensed Practican Nurse (LPN) license required; Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred

• -Previous experience in presenting and coordinating training programs in long term care preferred

• -Must be CPR BLS (basic life support) certified with the American Red Cross

• -CNA and CMT instructor training preferred

• -Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• -Very good communication and organizational skills

• -Basic computer skills to include Internet and Microsoft office (Word, Excel,

• Powerpoint, etc.)

Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B virus within guidelines of standard precautions. Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment is provided as needed. The employee must have the ability to walk continuously; push 250lbs, generating 50lbs of push force simulating pushing a shower chair; push a wheelchair with a load of 200lbs; transfer a 50lbs load from a wheelchair to a surface at the same height; reach to a height of 72 inches; lift/carry 50lbs and push/pull 45lbs.

Pay grade: Job code 772 (Exempt) – Grade G ($76,665.00/year to $123,000.00/year) Job code 770 (Non-Exempt) – Grade G1 ($36.86/hour to $59.13/hour) Eligible for shift differentials: No.
