What to Expect: Are you a versatile legal professional who thrives on variety and takes pride in upholding the highest standards of integrity? We are looking for a Paralegal & Manager, Compliance to join our Canadian Legal team in an exciting dual role.
As a Paralegal, you'll provide legal services with a focus on leading Marketing, Advertising, and Intellectual Property, Contests & Promotions and Corporate Maintenance while offering support across a broad range of areas including Privacy, Contracts, Litigation, Competition, Employment, and more.
As Manager, Compliance, you will champion strong corporate governance across the business, guide teams on compliance matters, and help embed a culture of accountability and integrity throughout the organization, including serving as a key member of our Market Compliance Committee. Marketing & Intellectual Property Support
Review consumer-facing materials (POS, packaging, social media, TV, store designs) for legal and policy compliance
Lead contest and promotion drafting, execution, and management, including Quebec Régie coordination
Develop training on ASC guidelines, IP, comparative advertising, social media, and French-language requirements
Oversee e-business activities, including Amazon Brand Registry, domain names and e-content review
Manage media requests relating to trademark and product use
Ensure legal compliance for internal and external communications, including press releases
Managing and working with external counsel, as necessary
Contract Development & Support
Draft, manage, and negotiate marketing and advertising agreements (sponsorship, donation, influencer, sampling)
Serve as key contact for cross-functional agreements such as NDAs, supply, and research grant agreements
Manage hotel and event participation agreements
Collaborate with the Legal team on licensing, event, and agency agreements as needed
Compliance
Support compliance initiatives and the development of policies and procedures
Manage the Compliance Training Program and global communications
Own compliance dashboard reporting, including incident tracking and training roll-out
Coordinate and manage the Compliance Committee meeting and meeting minutes
Perform ad hoc reviews and fraud investigations as requested by Senior Management
Support compliance activities, including CARE audits, Speak Up, conflict-of-interest evaluations, and investigations
Contests and Promotions
Oversee contests and promotions for legal and compliance matters
Take a pragmatic, business-friendly approach
General Corporate Support
Oversee corporate governance, including minute book maintenance and business name renewals
Partner with Treasury on new banking relationships and prepare corporate resolutions
Coordinate with directors, officers, and global shareholders
Support audit, real estate, regulatory, and document retention matters
Knowledge & External Spend Management
Design and maintain the Legal group's precedent system in SharePoint
Manage the external spend budget and external counsel relationships
Train and oversee the Administrator on invoice processing and internal cross-charges
Role Requirements
University degree and Paralegal Certification or a Certificate from the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario
Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a law clerk or paralegal, with a solid understanding of a variety of legal concepts, practices, and procedures
Experience in corporate commercial work and intellectual property matters is an asset
CPG industry experience is considered an asset
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to multi-task, create detailed plans, monitor progress, follow up, and consistently meet deadlines with strong attention to detail
Proactive and forward-thinking, able to work independently and anticipate needs

Compensation Range: $98,614.00 to $125,000.00 + bonus eligibility
