Digital Marketing (COE) team supports Aon business units across geographies with research, analytics, marketing, proposal support and operational support to client delivery. Its mission is to provide Aon sales, marketing and strategy teams with the information, analysis and insight necessary to make informed decisions across business development, client delivery and strategy
The Senior Consultant plays a critical role within Aon’s Global Digital Marketing function by strengthening the Eloqua Global Support capability and elevating our digital engagement and email marketing programs. This role owns complex, multi-wave, multi-region Eloqua and marketing automation initiatives — designing advanced customer and prospect journeys, driving personalization and optimization, and ensuring campaigns are aligned to business objectives and commercial outcomes. Acting as a Senior Specialist, the Senior Consultant provides strategic and executional leadership across digital engagement programs. They craft audience and journey strategies with regional marketing leads. They write persuasive campaign copy and apply dynamic, data-driven features to improve relevance and conversion. The role also sets and upholds operating standards, coaches Consultant I colleagues, and partners with CRM and analytics teams to ensure data quality, measurement rigor, and actionable insights. By combining deep marketing-automation expertise with collaborator consulting and mentoring, the Senior Consultant helps position Aon’s digital marketing function as a high-impact, scalable engine for growth.
Own end-to-end delivery for multi-wave, multi-region Eloqua programs, including intake, prioritization, timelines, and risk management.
Partner with regional digital marketing leads to shape audience strategies, lifecycle journeys and measurement plans
Define and maintain campaign operating standards, SLAs, and playbooks; drive adherence across regions and requestors.
Facilitate weekly program stand-ups with stakeholders; publish consolidated status, risks, and decisions.
Design complex prospect and client journeys (nurture streams, re-engagement flows, lifecycle triggers), including segmentation logic, lead scoring, and personalization rules.
Write clear, compelling copy for emails, landing pages, and forms; apply brand voice, accessibility, and deliverability guidelines.
Adopt and implement dynamic features (dynamic content blocks, conditional content, AMP/interactive email elements, countdown timers, progressive profiling).
Implement A/B and multivariate testing across subject lines, content, CTAs, and send strategies; monitor inbox placement and orchestrate continuous optimization.
Translate business goals into important metrics, dashboards, and executive readouts; recommend actions to improve conversion and pipeline health.
Partner with CRM/Analytics teams to ensure accurate data synchronization (lead routing, field mapping, UTM governance) and surface data issues proactively.
Uphold privacy/regulatory requirements (consent management, preference centers, suppression lists) and embed controls in campaign processes.
Contribute to integration specifications (Eloqua ↔ CRM/Events/Data Warehouse) and participate in UAT for new features.
Establish robust QA checklists, peer reviews, and pre-send validation to minimize defects and rework.
Identify process bottlenecks; lead Lean/automation improvements (templates, snippets, reusable assets, macros).
Create and maintain knowledge artifacts (SOPs, job aids, runbooks) to scale operational excellence.
Serve as the primary liaison for regional marketing liaisons and campaign owners, aligning requirements, timelines, and expectations.
Provide structured consulting to collaborators on audience strategy, content readiness, and measurement frameworks.
Present progress and outcomes to senior collaborators; handle customer issues and drive resolution.
Coach Consultant I colleagues; review work output, provide feedback, and support skill development in journey design, copywriting, and dynamic content usage.
Lead onboarding/training on Eloqua standards, QA practices, analytics, and advanced features; foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture.
Act as a subject-matter resource for HTML/CSS, deliverability, segmentation logic, and persuasive writing.
Eloqua (Advanced): Campaign Canvas, Program Builder, Segmentation, CDOs, Lead Scoring, Deliverability Diagnostics, and Dynamic Content. Advanced experience in a comparable enterprise MA platform (Marketo, SFMC, HubSpot, Pardot) will also be considered.
Web & data: intermediate HTML/CSS; basic JavaScript; familiarity with APIs, form capture, tracking parameters (UTM, UTMR), progressive profiling, and data governance.
Copywriting & UX: ability to craft persuasive, on-brand copy; apply accessibility guidelines and layout procedures for email and landing pages.
Analytics: building dashboards and reports; interpreting KPIs (open/click, CTOR, form completion, MQL/SQL conversion, revenue influence).
Productivity: MS Office (advanced Excel), documentation tools, ticketing/work-management platforms.
Certification in Marketing Automation (Eloqua) and/or CRM platforms.
Experience integrating Eloqua with CRM, events, or data platforms; exposure to deliverability management tools.
Demonstrated track record of mentoring or leading small workstreams; portfolio of campaign copywriting and journey design a plus.
