The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting quality control/assurance testing on specific construction products and materials. This role consists of physical labor, fabrication of samples, testing of samples, and recording of data. This could include mixing and batching of concrete, cement, epoxies, coatings, steel, aggregates, or consumer product testing.
Shoveling and mixing concrete
Perform fabrication of test samples (weigh ingredients and mix using the mixer)
Clean and assemble molds or special equipment
Perform testing in accordance with applicable standards
Provide technical advice on testing techniques and solutions
Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
High School Diploma / GED
0-3 years of experience in laboratory testing
Preferred:
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
Basic knowledge in use of hand tools and power tools
Basic knowledge of sample fabrication
Basic knowledge in use of scales and balances
Advanced level of English
Basic Mathematical skills
Basic reasoning and problem-solving skills
Basic working knowledge of Office 365
